I *so* recognise that feeling! I've done a list even for today, so I have something to focus on - can't just sit back and relax! Tut!

Sitting relaxing in the conservatory sounds lovely Hypno.Great to hear that you're relaxing as you needed to slow down a little.0

I was relaxing at 7am, taxi.....since then, it is more a case of going round and round in circles and not feeling as though anything has actually been achieved!!
I have done a fair bit in the kitchen, and a bit more sorting......DD made chocolate muffins, and there is a lasagne cooking for lunch. I think this afternoon I am going to sort out some more clothes - my underwear drawer probably, as most things either no longer fit, or are generally "past their best".......it would be shocking if I was run over by a bus and the hospital staff had to see my undies :rotfl:
Also, a handbag clearout is on the cards while watching telly this evening. Most are, again, past their best, so I need to clear out and throw out those that are no longer smart, and neatly store those that are acceptable rather than thrown in the cupboard under the stairs.......Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. That's a fair bit of stuff achieved so far today then...I'm tired already reading that.
Must get on with decluttering myself as well as all the cleaning I need to do.0 -
Think a drawer in the filing cabinet is calling to me.

Don't be fooled, taxi - there really is very little actually being achieved here! OH is off to work in an hour or so, so I am hoping that I can then blitz things a bit before I aim for a lazy evening on the sofa with the laptop and the TV remote (and my blanket because I am trying to save on the heating!!).
Despite the decluttering, the place doesn't look much different......that is obviously down to general untidiness and laziness.......hmmmm!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. All that decluttering is *so* important - when we move to the houses we love, we don't want all that carp with us!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hi Hypno!
What a wonderful opening post to your new diary, looking forward to reading about your progress as ever.
Regarding the decluttering, have you seen the 'great declutter, 18 months on' thread on OS? It is a real motivator - people post lists of what they have decluttered that day, and provided you have more out than in thats ok! Just thought you might find it useful as you continue your decluttering mission.
Lots of luck xxMFW

I've done another (very) little bit of sorting - I have carrier bags of "stuff" in my wardrobe that are, essentially, the contents of my desk drawers from a job I left 4 years ago.......
I have been through and thrown out the obvious rubbish, thereby bringing it down to two bags......but I need to go through carefully before I shred old contracts/pension bumf/etc......instinct tells me that it is not needed (for example I have transferred the pension into my new pension fund, and the sharesave scheme has long since ended) but I do need to go through it once more before I shred and regret!
That means that the bottom of my wardrobe, in the last week or so, has had a serious clear out, and is much more user friendly! The things I have been buying through the year for presents are now in a box with a lid, clothes are on hangers, not fallen amongst the stuff on the wardrobe floor, etc.
I just need (want) a new box for the photos so they can be stored properly, two hat boxes so my hats don't get ruined, and some see through plastic shoe boxes to store my nicer shoes that are worn less often. Oh, and last years Christmas decorations, or at least some of them, never made it back into storage, which means that I need to sort them out properly this year, decide what I want to keep, and get rid of the rest.
I am aiming for the minimal classy look this Christmas :rotfl:
In fact, talking of the C word, which as you know I have been fighting since Shaun started talking about it back in about February......I have decided to take control of that time of year, this year. Christmas lunch will be here, with those members of the family that want to come and visit (but only for the day).
Apart from anything else, it might encourage me to keep decluttering, and the odd bits of decorating I want to get done, and also it means I can drink on Christmas day because I won't be driving or having lunch in the home of teetotallers!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I think I was part of the original thread........and my absence from it ever since says it all :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
