regarding where to get one that works and waiting till the jan sales - I don't think they can get much cheaper can they?
You can buy a new one today for £19.99.
If you can afford a computer and broadband, I would have thought £19 would be affordable???
Sorry if this sounds negative, but I'm really just trying to help you towards a pragmatic solution.
Thanks- yes that is affordable (broadband for me and phone incl is £15 btw (talktalk)) but which to get? I don't want to get caught out again with this retuning lark!0 -
When I retuned I noticed Five, ITV3 and ITV4 were each duplicated. The standard channel numbers, like 5 for Five, were not working. However, I found working version of these channels at:
Ch 741 = FIVE
Ch 750 = ITV3
Ch 790 = ITV4
So please look at the higher numbers after you retune. Or just punch in these number into your remove, but it may vary according to your local transmitter. My local one is Sandy Heath.
I hope this helps some people. Yes, I know it's stupid, but what can we do.0 -
What a pain this retuning thing is. Lost some channels and apart from the BBC channels the rest are 'blocking and juddering!!!! Any suggestions?....0

The channels do not start until 21 so that is ok. You have lost muxD. You need to find what channel it is on from here http://www.wolfbane.com/cgi-bin/tvd.exe and manualy tune into the channel for muxD.
Sorry, went to the link, but couldn't see what you meant. What's muxD? I couldn't see that on the page I went to.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

It tells me to try channel 55, but a manual search doesn't find it, just tells me to check the aerial. It was there a week ago!
I am in a poor reception area though, so perhaps that's made a difference. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Hi Guys, since retuning, my TIVO point blank refuses to acknowledge any digital channels. Used to be OK and receive them before hand.
Who do we sue for the cockup? Freeview or the government?
How the heck can I get the machine to recognise the new set up?
Yes, I have been through the onscreen instructions no fewer than 6 or 7 times.
Any help would be appreciated.0 -
still having problems i have a Philips DTR 1500:footie:0
