The 16 main channels of TV programming (inc News, Parliament, CBBC & Cbeebies) from the relay serving us have now been reduced to 14.

We didn't get much of a chance to evaluate ITV3 and ITV4 before losing them but it's a shame that they can't/won't shift C4+1 to a commercial multiplex and give us something like Film4 on the public service multiplexes.

It's my understanding that anyone on a Relay Transmitter risks losing ITV3 and ITV4. See the following link:

  • Hi all, well i have virgin and nothing seems to of changed on my tv and i still havn't re-tuned, shall i still do it. i suppose theres no harm in it!

It's FREEview that this change affects, not paid for subscription services. If you get Virgin for free, please do tell everyone your secret. Is it even possible to 're-tune' a cable box !?!

I don't mean to be mean, but don't you know the television service you receive?

he older 1 cannot pick up ITV, ITV2 or channel 5, but can pick up ITV3&4, even though they are split lines from the same aerial. Have tried the retune 3 times, the last time being 5.00pm. Does anyone else have the same problem or any idea what I can do next? Thank you.

Have you restored your machine to factory settings rather than just looked for new channels? Delete all the channels you can get and THEN try searching again or wait till your local weather improves and try again.

We could only get a few channels at lunchtime, but now we can get the full range.

If you want to see exactly what channels you should now be getting go to this website and put in your postcode in the box on the right:

    http://www.tvretune.co.uk/troubleshooting/

I've used this to check which channels we should be recieving and we have lost ITV3 (still got ITV4), Virgin (still got Virgin+1), Fiver, Five US, CITV, CNN plus others. Ours is the Winter Hill transmitter and we have very good reception. Anyone else lost more channels than they should have done and know how to solve it. Don't want to do factory reset as we have a hard drive and I don't want to lose all the recordings

You have lost muxA. Try a complete retune again or a manual retune on channel 68.

I can't believe they have had to return 25m boxes, surely this is a misprint? If not this has cost a fortune for very little!

    Its says retune, not return.
  • does anyone know whether the Logik LDR V2 model is one of the ones that won't work after retuning? It's only about 2 years old...

I just can't get it to work, every time I switch it on it goes straight into a page that says "click OK when you want to start tuning, then tells me it can't find any channels, and to check my aerial connection. I've bought a new aerial lead, and it works perfectly with the TV, but not with the freeview box. I can't even get into menu or help or anythging...is the box b**gered?

That model is not on any of the won't work / may have problems lists. The first suggestion is to unplug from the mains and leave for a few hours then try again. If that fails give the manufacturers helpline a ring.
  • My father has a 5 year old Panasonic IDTV and when I rescanned it a few weeks ago, he lost 3 or 4 channels. This is because Panasonic didn't think the number of Freeview channels would ever exceed 95 - it is now just over 100.

I had to contact Panasonic Customer Services and arrange for them to send me a Conditional Access Module (CAM) to put in the back of the set to upgrade its software. It works fine now.
