Mobiles.co.uk - deliberately misleading advert?

  • What they did was stick a recorded/registered delivery label on the envelope but neither paid for it nor actually registered it with the Post Office, apparently rolls of these stickers are available to businesses who use the service frequently. However you are meant to register the label (so it can be tracked) and then actually pay for it.

It looks to me like my letter was done out with the normal system/channels by someone unfamiliar with the procedures. (It might have been Ben?)

Had they actually just used or missed a stamp it would have been cheaper for me too, rather than paying for the recorded delivery + handling fee £5.95.

    Very unfortunate for everyone involved.

Come on guys - This is getting pathetic.

Yes Ben has his failings and I wouldn't buy a phone from them etc but the arguements are getting petty.

Do you seriously not have better things to do than spend most of the day on here.

Yes makeyour point but we don't need every entire thread about mobiles getting into a long arguement. Make your point and leave it at that.

    Hi Overkill,

Sincere apologies for that - it does indeed come from a roll of stickers and should also have had one of our "Postage Paid" labels attached, all cheques above a certain value are sent recorded/special as a matter of policy, in case we need to re-issue them.

As you might expect I let out a long sigh when I saw your posts this morning and can only apologise for the final 'insult to injury' here - we truly managed to snatch defeat from the jaws from victory on this one.

You can expect another cheque shortly, this time postage paid and untracked.

Holding your hands up and admitting it will probably have done you more good than 100 disagreements with MJ.

And a decent set of replies from -overkill- as well who took an objective view of the matter.

I think that Silk, however, will probably post a thanks against your reply.

    The right result, Ben.

Credit where credit is due you managed to pull this one round finaly !

Whats realy impressive in this though which a few have missed is the credit you deserve for the speed in managing to reach an agreement with Overkill on the 16th ...go all through the system of ordering and getting a cheque processed getting it posted out and to him by the morning of the 20th.
Slight hiccup with whoever's job for taking it to the post office but still 3 days is mightily impressive considering what you've said in the past about how long cheques take :T
Fingers crossed the next one is as swift and his cashback cheque is as quick whenever that is due.
It's not just about the money

    Hi,
I can't offer sales support here as I feel that would be too close to "touting for business", so to discuss the above offer give oru Sales team a call?

When you order a Vodafone there is a field for PAC entry in the checkout process.

I didn't think Mobiles could transfer existing mobile numbers to Vodafone?
    Is this a new thing?
