Are Mobiles.co.uk deliberately misleading customers with this advert ?
Click on “best deal” for the HTC Hero tab on their home page (like I sadly did)
Surely on reading that you are led to believe that this phone will cost £20 per month for 24 months (after the 14 month half price by redemption is taken into account). There is nothing in that advert/banner to suggest anything otherwise is there ? and there is also nothing to allow me to work out the real month charge either (If it’s not actually £20 ). . . or am I being simple !

Sorry - completely missing the point you are making, as well as the previous post too. Just exactly what are you being charged then?
I take it that it is the Orange £20 per month deal you are referring to.0 -

No, it was the HTC Hero "best deal", read the advert and tell me how much you would expect to pay ?
You'll get to it from a link on the main web site page click the HTC Hero (I cant post links yet)0 -
The "Best Deals" are what mobiles.co.uk offer - not "best deal across the web". Its a bit obvious.0

OK. It says the following:-- HTC Hero on Orange - FREE!
- Orange Dolphin 40 (24 Months)
- With 1200 mins & Unlimited texts + 500MB data per month
- Your monthly line rental will be £20.00 per month after redemption
- Gadget Phone Support - first month FREE, cancel at any time, £2.99/month.
- PhoneCare Insurance - first month FREE, cancel at any time, £7.99/month.
I now see what you mean - I was looking at the one on Dolphin 30 which is marked best deal rather than the the 14 month Dolphin 40 one.
Dunno - looks like a b*****s muddle to me. Why don't you ask them exactly what the deal is and, if you are interested, get them to confirm it in writing/by email first - or, as others would recommend, go elsewhere!
Good luck0 -

Wow ! I didnt realise that !!!
No, my question is : can you tell how much that phone is per month, over the full 24 month term of the contact ? Taking into account the half price months and redemption ? . . . . from that advert/banner0 -
http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/orange-htc-hero.html
I think I understand what you are saying. Clicking on the Best deal gives this info:Free HTC Hero
Orange Dolphin 40 (24 months)
Line rental £20.00 by redemption
With 1200 mins & Unlimited texts
PLUS 500MB of data usage
But when looking at the deal at the bottom of the page, it would seem you are paying £40/month for 24 months - total price = £960.
You get 14 months 1/2 price via cashback = £280
Total after cashback = £680
Which over 24 months equates to £28.33/month.
So not sure where mobiles get the "Line rental £20.00 by redemption" from?0 -

I cant see what banner ad you mean but all I did was pick the phone from the latest list - and got the page showing tariffs - one of which says £20 under the monthly cost with the phone costing £89.99.0 -
"GUYS DAD" and "RCA779" are seeing it now. It’s too late for me I thought it was pretty clear what I was getting £20 a month after redemption LIKE IT SAYS ! but it’s not apparently it’s going to cost me £28.33/month, I would have stayed where I was and not have bought it if I had known that.
It looks like its deliberately misleading which surely is against the law.
I've sent about 5 emails to the CS dept but they only replied to the first one to advise that its actually £28.33 and not £20.
They have ignored all subsequent emails where I asked about cancellations etc, . . . which after reading the forum here I can’t anyway now as I've used the sim !
Not sure what to do now0 -
Always check & double check the small print0
