Well done Rotherham lass, well done on that pound. The trouble with being good during the week and then having what you want at the weekend is, as I found out, even though the weekend food you eat isn't horrendous you end up overeating on Sat Sun, then undereating to compensate for it. Then it creeps to Friday night is the weekend aswell, and before you know it you've put on weight.
Plzhelpmesave - take the mentality you would need to stick to he Cambridge diet, and apply it to doing your WW - you will be much healthier and a lot less likely to gain in January. Plan your food religiously, have the food you know you enjoy but also gives you good weight loss. Please don't mess up your metabolism by going on what appears to be a crash diet - come Crimbo you might end up with a smaller tum but will definitely have dark eye circles, poor skin tone and dull hair in the Christmas photos.
Tara I suffer from SAD, after a particularly bad winter my GP told me to take vitamin D starting every September, it works for me much better than the SAD lamp does.;) I don't need to sit under a glaring light for half an hour either with vitamin D.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

thanks mum, i mean Ailuro!, and Tara and RLass for your sensible words!
been thinking about it since last nite, and know i just need to be sensible, watch portion sizes, start measuring properly and keep up with the excercise and the darn weight will come off.
Im sick of getting on the scales and being nervous/scared of what the number will be. Every time i lose a pound, i promise myself that the scales will have me at a lower weight the next time, and then I'm back up again.
Really happy for those of you that are sticking to it properly and losing. AND you guys are real time proof that WW does work, so i better just get on with it and go lose some weight0 -

Here we are nearly nine weeks into the challenge. How are we all doing?
If you're reading this, and see your name, well done to you for still reading the thread.:D
If you're reading this and weigh less than you did back in September, give yourself a pat on the back. Remember they're paying you 5p to do this!
If you're reading this and are still tracking everything you put in your mouth, then I take my hat off to you, you're really making the most of this.:T
If you're reading this, do all of the above but already have a reminder set to cancel your Credit Card direct debit the day before the end of your trial - are you related to Martin Lewis?:money:
For those who didn't enjoy / use WW as much as they thought they would, remember, the gym and weightloss industry make a mint every year from people who pay for their services but don't use them. They're not the kind of pounds we want to lose here.££ Remember to cancel your debits.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I was well organised and put a reminder on my phone as soon as I paid for my membership! Martin would be proud!
Is anyone gonna carry on at 9.95 a month???
Had a good food day today, but no exercise...busy working
porridge, late lunch of mince on bread (x2) with a bit of half fat cheese under the grill (yummmmmy!), apple, and then a bowl of weetabix at about 10.30pm coz i wasn;t hungry before then. Just gonna point it now - but won;t be doing it regularly!
Fasting tomorrow (religious reasons, not weight loss!) and its Eid on Friday which means no WW but thinking about what I eat!!0 -

it doesnt matter which account it is under, you have to contact WW and tell them you are cancelling - even if you cancel the DD with your bank, unless you tell WW you are ending your subscription, you are still liable to pay them - there isnt any need for you to contact your bank at all

plzhelpmesave! wrote: »WI today had me at 12.9 which means a total blooming stinking total of 3lbs since starting this challenge nearly 2 months ago. Ive failed each and every target I set myself and am obviously rubbish at this losing weight malarky. I was talking to someone about Cambridge Diet today and am seriously thinking about doing something like that for a month or so
3lbs off, is still better than another 3lbs on, so :T on the weight loss
please do not go onto the cambridge diet. yes, its designed to help you loose weight quickly, but it doesnt help re-educate your mind, into making better food choices for the long term
Maybe you just have to accept, that as this point in time, loosing weight isnt that high a priority for you. yes, i know you would love to weight less, we all would. but until you are at a point in your life, where that means more than anything else, then it wont happen
im a serial yo-yo dieter. loose some weight (have never reached goal, yet), and then put it back on, and more. this has gone on for about the past 10yrs, but finally, something has clicked for me. yes, i still have the odd week where i dont loose (so far have stayed the same for the past 3wks), and im finding it tough when i dont loose, and think sod it, if im being good, and its still not going, then i might as well eat some chocolate, as at least i'll have a reason for not loosing, iyswim
However, the thing that has clicked for me most, this time around. isnt about food, its all about exercise. Im still eating roughly what i did pre WW, but the fact im implementing the odd better option here and there foodwise, coupled with exercise, means my weightloss is heading in a better direction, than it ever has before
Im starting to come to the conclusion, that diets per se dont work, as most peoples weight gain is probably due more, to a sedentary lifestyle. But ive also found that by looking at everything i eat, and knowing how high point wise it is, in comparrision to what my daily points total is, is quite helpful
yesterday i had a large sausage roll. now in the past i would, like most people, have just treated that as a snack you ate on the run, between your actual meals. however when i pointed it up, at 12pts, that was more than half my daily allowance. My brain if finally accepting, that if i want to eat stuff like that, then i shouldnt assume that its still acceptable to have a high fat/calorie evening meal, plus my lunch, and some crisps in front of the tv - its an either/or choice, not an 'and'
The support on this thread is fantastic - use it and abuse it

flea72 - thanks for the inspirational post! I love this thread.
I started reading the Paul McKenna book last night and it is sort of making sense so far. I have been like this:
"Maybe you just have to accept, that as this point in time, loosing weight isnt that high a priority for you."
I do want to lose weight, but maybe I wanted chocolate more on any given occasion! And the desire for the short term high provided by the chocolate overrode the desire for the long term benefits of losing weight. But I am feeling more and more determined and I really want to make it work. I am also fed up of feeling yuk after eating the wrong stuff. Also, I went for a walk last night as promised - it was good! Cold but invigorating! And it gave me renewed focus.
Will read some more PMK and report back.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
