hiya all
well done ailuro - you are cracking on with this! Foot better thanks, been at hosebound since yesterday as DD has an ear infection with all the high temperature, snotty nose and clinginess that comes with it, bless her!! had a couple of rough days and nites, and have been a bit less careful with food - to put it mildly!
Supposed to be going away with friends for the first time in years tomorrow - but tbh, will only go if DD is well enough to stay with DH - keep your fingers crossed please!! been looking forward to getting away!
Also been spending a bit of time on the DFW and MFW boards looking and reading other people diaries.... need to knuckle down and sort out our finances, rather than keep telling ourselves that it's alright, it's 0%!! It's still money we have to pay back and me and DH need to start singing from the same hymn sheet on this.0 -
In weight loss, as in debt reduction or mortgage free goals, start with realistic targets and eat the elephant by starting with a nibble on its toes.;)
When I joined the MFi3 challenge 2 1/2 years ago I wasn't convinced we'd get anywhere near to paying off 25K in three years. Yet we did it with time to spare, and ended up paying off the whole mortgage (£27K)

We started with overpaying a little every month and it just kind of snowballed till it was gone. Once you're in the habit of not overspending it becomes second nature to think before you spend the money on something you don't really need. We've been on quite a few holidays during the challenge, so we've not gone without at all - just got everything at the best price we could find.We earn ordinary wages, so it's a real achievement for us.:D
It would be incredible if not mind blowing if I was posting about weight loss in a similar mindset many months down the road...that I didn't believe I could go all the way when I first joined the challenge but I got into the good habit of not overspending my points and it had become second nature to think before I spent points on something I didn't really need. That I'd had my treats but had did the b est I could with points to get the most out of them.
Who knows what will happen?
When we set our minds to do something we can do it if we keep at it, keep on keepin' on, as it were, or 'just keep swimming' as Dory says in Finding Nemo!:j
Plshlpmesave, my DH laughed when I joined the mfi3 thread, he had even more doubts than me, but once we started keeping an eye on the mortgage balance and seeing it shrinking,he started to get on board a whole lot more. Like tracking points, write everything down so you can see where you went right, and where you didn't do so well.;)

Thanks ailuro and tara! Must admit I find this thread vey helpful with keeping me on the straight and narrow
ailuro2 - my first thought was 'oo I want a keyring!', but then I thought there's no way I want complete strangers or even people I know, to notice it and know that I do WW! Plus if it was on the car keyring then DH (6' 2, very fit and slim) would make me get my own keys cut lol.
tara - pah, how annoying! Any ideas why?0
