Good Luck to everyone who weighs in at the start of the week.

I was really good at tournament yesterday, only had one little sweet from the table (they always have a bag of sweets laid out for those working the table, refereeing etc. ) but it turns out I'l glad to have just had one, as these humbugs are one point for two sweets! SOOOO not worth it!!

DD got bronze for her short form/pattern/kata, whichever way you would describe it, she was up against a black belt in her group, so I'm really pleased for her to have got a medal.:A

  • well done to your DD ailuro! And great loss Tara, like you say, it's coming off.

Saw a piccie on the main WW support thread of what a pound of fat looks like - its a mound as big as a mug!! so we need to value every single pound we lose, instead of thinking it's only a pound!:D

i'd be grateful for a pound right now! Went to bums and tums this morning and thought I would WI as I had originally started doing so on a Tuesday, and then have ended up WI on different days every week! thought would start afresh and stick with Mondays as Im going to the class, but wish i hadn't now!

Scales say 12.8 again - which means in total since starting this challenge 6 weeks ago, i have only lost 4 lbs!!- still glad to have lost them and I know i definately look a bit better, so will keep going at it! it is de-motivating, but I think I may have to just be happy to lose weight regardless of how long its taking, its much better for it to be coming off slowly rather than adding to it, which I probably would have carried on doing preWW.

maybe its TOTM making me weigh more?? am determined to keep going to the gym as i don;t ususally go when its TOTM,but will keep it up as im going away this weekend and reall want to lose as much as possible beforeand. Had a good day yesterday, within points and will be within points today.

porridge for brunch - had it about 12ish
WW yoghurt & apple for afterschool snack
    Dinner is roasted veg pasta

Hope we all have a good week guys

Yay well done tara! And to ailuro2 for being good yesterday, and to your daughter for her bronze medal :)

plzhelpmesave, I can gain up to 7lbs at TOTM, so I bet you do really well next week - don't give up hope!

2lbs off this week fo me - takes me under the 12 stone mark so my reward will be a slice of white chocolate ganache birthday cake on Thursday (DD and I are sharing a cake as our birthdays are one day after the other) :D

Am down to 19 points now though, and that'll be 18 points on Wednesday when I go up an age bracket. Pah.
  • feeling good today girlies! saw someone I hadn't seen for about a year, and she told me straight away that i looked thinner! I was wearing a vey flattering top which always makes me look a lot thinner, but it did give me a boost!

As i had my porridge at lunchtime today, I didn't really eat much inthe day time - had 2 plums, and 2 naughty biccies (1.5 points each) BUT i have pointed everything. Had a much smaller dinner portion than normal, hubby was dishing up and asked how much I wanted - so I said Half of whatever he was having!

Gym tomorrow for bums and tums again, and also some cardio in the gym - rower, treadmill and cross trainers - fingers crossed.

What excercise is everyone else doing??

I do martial arts 3 to 4 times a week but it depends on what we're doing - if it's drills and short forms the exercise element is better than doing self defence, but neither of these are as good as grappling or sparring, o I adjust my activity points accordingly. Because I'm still being treated for tennis elbow I'm not allowed to grapple (physio says not to:rolleyes:)

I spend an hour at the gym when I can get my backside in gear to go while DD is at gymnastics.

I walk quite a lot as part of my job, so class myself as 'mostly standing' when I do my points quiz.

    Well done on your losseseveryone!

Remember plzhelpmesave, 4lb in six weeks is nearly 2 and a half stone in a year, that's a nice steady loss you've managed there.

NBirdy - well done on getting under 12 stone - I'd be ecstatic if I ever got down to that. Enjoy your cake, it sounds lovely.

Tara - you've got the right attitude, slow but steady wins the race.:T

Rotherham lass good luck for your weigh in today.:D

i have a Q for those that are dieting and exercising

was exercise a part of your life before you started dieting, or is it something you have started, as a result of your weight loss?

its just that there are people on here who seem to be quite active, and i just cant see why they would need to diet, with the amount of exercise they do - unless they use it as a way to cancel out all the junk they prefer to eat, in which case, where does WW come in?

Even basic activities like weeding give you an additional 0.5pts for every 10mins, and most people would garden for at least half an hour, so that should cover a packet of crisps - but with some people going to the gym 3+ times a week, and doing other stuff, but they still dont seem to lose consistently, im just intrigued at what else is going on in their lifestyle, that would mean the additional exertion, isnt converting into weight loss

tbh, having an active lifestyle, espec exercise focused, isnt condusive with a mentality that results in being overweight - so i was just wondering if the exercise has come as a result of the weight loss, being more or less been achieved

Sorry I can't help you flea72, I have the overweight mentality :rotfl:. I've never been keen on exercise although I did very well when we had room for a cross-trainer in the living room (now totally swamped in toys and small people dashing about) and went on it twice a day - the difference to my figure was amazing and I loved it. Then I went on holiday with my fab new bod, and within a week without the exercise it all turned to wobbles again - I was so annoyed that all the work could be undone in so short a time, that it really put me off starting all over again :o

Now I'm a stay-at-home mum to two under 3's so would have to get a babysitter if I wnated to go to the gym. No pavements round here (very, very rural) so it's not even easy to take them out in a pushchair for a long walk. So apart from the obvious running around/playing with the kids, no exercise here at all.

My hubby wants to take me out tomorrow night  to my favourite chinese restaurant, with lots of yummy gazillion point food......
