Our DD is in our local paper today, so had to buy a copy - they were giving out scratchcards, we won a Mars bar, went back and got another copy for her Auntie, won another MArs bar, DD has eaten the first one and I'm going to persuade DH to take the other one to work with him.
The mars bars days are numbered!!

Lexuslass - sorry to hear about your brother, that's shocking news. I suspect I'd be spending a few points on vodka tonight if I were in your shoes.

Lexus hun - sorry to hear of your brothers' illness. Sending you all lots of love and praying he gets better. Makes you remember what really is important eh?

Aliuro - well done on another fab loss! Keep up the good work - you're obviously going for it the right way.

Ive had a generally good day today - porridge for brekkie, big, thick slice of greggs bread with chilli and tesco healthy living cheese on the george forman (mmmmmm!) for lunch, apple and spag bol for dinner - much smaller portion and in a smaller plate than normal.

Got some WW snacks from Home Bargains - the chocolate bar and the Alpen Light bars - please tell me they really are 1 point each!!

Had a sneaky peek on the scales and seem to be back to 12.9 - which was was i was in week 1, so hopefully i can try to lose a bit over the weekend! Did walk for almost 2 hours solid this morning - walked to school and then walked DD all the way to nursery (she was in her pushchair) took about 50 minutes! but will try to get some walking/park visits in with the kids before the weather gets too grotty!

Hope we all have a good weekend - its the worst time for me. may take the kids to Aldi to get some cheap fruit tomorrow..

Aww lexuslass, so sorry to hear that about your brother. Certainly does put things in perspective.

plzhelpmesave - the site says Alpen Light, 1 portion = 1 point. And the ladies over on the main WW thread mentioned them as 1 point too. All credit to them as I'd have never thought they were that low either!

Just had a yummy mini Twister ice lolly, also 1 point :)

Got an attack of the munchies, so I've made some sugar free jelly, and also have the much recommended butternut squash fries in the oven, I've sprinkled them with fajita seasoning, I'm hoping they'll trun out like spicy wedges.

15 minutes at 220 deg celcius(fan assisted) then turn them over and cook for another 15 minutes is my first attempt.

update - 15 minutes on one side was enough, they're gone!!

DD gives them 3 out of 10 but was surprised they were made with BNS, it was the coating she didn't like! (Old El PAso smoky BBQ mix is great when it's on ordinary wedges)

I'd give them 5 out of 10 for flavour, 9 out of 10 becasue they're zero points and quick to cook (cheated and used the pre prapared BNS from Tesco and sliced it up a bit thinner.

Think I'll try them a bit chunkier next time though.

  • Nbirdy - haven't had any of the Alpens yet - saving them for evening treat with a nice cup of tea...just hope its worth the wait...or weight!!

Ali - sounds like you got WW sussed and are using your points really sensibly so well done hun! Im back into my tracking but being a bit half hearted today and not weighing things!

Just had a WW wrap with some chilli left over from last nite - scrumptious and very moreish! BUT just had the one - well done me!

making curry & chapattis tonite - but think i will do some fish and steamed veg for myself. part of my shopping challenge - trying to use up stuff in my freezer and cupboards before buying more things that i dont really need!

Anyone seen spaghetti squash in any of the supermarkets?

I don't get a box of veg delivered to me, any idea where I can try some of this - use it like pasta but it's a veggie, that osunds wonderful for saving points!!:T

plzhelpmesave I have a freezer full too, but it's mostly wraps and bread, ate all the meat and goodies out of it already. I love wraps, especially with chicken, peppers and a bit of light Hellmann's - I was surprised it's only half a point, it's worth it to brighten up salads that are not my favourite food! (If I wasn't a salad dodger I'd not be on this thread in the first place, would I?, lol)

Very sorry to hear about your brother Lexuslass what awful news.

I have stayed the same this week - it was all going so well till Friday night, when I was tired, felt cold and had a cold... excuses, excuses eh?!!!

I need to make a huge effort this week so I lose a bit more before I go away next week. Will start with some vegetable soup this morning I think!
