I got back from the school run and wanted some crisps - so I looked in the cupboard and OH bought some Nik Naks when he went to the shop yesterday so I grabbed a packet of those (not had any for years and really fancied some!)

Thought, that as french fries, quavers are 1.5 ish then they would be about 3.... Came to track them (after wolfing down the whole packet!!) and they were 4.5 points!!!!

Will stick to French Fries in future!!

lexuslass - congrats on the 2lb loss!! :)

Yikes @ the Nik Naks! 4.5 points!!!!

I've been soooo good today, had tinned salmon with toms and bulgur wheat for lunch and it's kept me going till now. I am feeling very virtuous! :D (compared to usual pig out during working hours)

pink and whites = gak :rotfl:

kaza - you may as well have the full pack, must remember that :rotfl: Although from a MSE point of view, the big choc digestives are cheaper as you can buy own brand etc.

I copied this from Skint_Catt's post on another thread (Paul McKenna IIRC). It's tips on uses for Quark, thought it might be good for low points food ideas, HTH:

Add very low fat fromage frais to quark with some herbs & garlic to make a lovely dip.

Add garlic puree (you don’t need very much) to a tub of quark, mix together and keep in the fridge to add to almost anything! Try dipping slimming world chips into it or use as a topping for jacket potatoes.

Mix with a tin of tuna, chopped spring onion, red pepper and a tsp of paprika for a sandwich filling or jacket potato topping.

Mix salmon with a tub of quark place on a bed of rocket leaves and top with asparagus and black pepper. (Lovely as a starter)

Mix quark with cooked leeks, mushrooms, fat free fromage frais or yoghurt and stir through pasta. It makes a really nice creamy sauce.

Quark is a good alternative to cottage cheese when making quiche, just whisk it into the eggs and pour over the base mixture.

Make a sugar free jelly up as the packet says and set aside to cool (2 sins). Mix a matching flavoured Muller light with a pot of quark. Carefully stir in jelly and allow to set in the fridge over night.

Mix equal parts quark and Mullerlight (any flavour). Add a little sweetener and put into ice cream maker - delicious!

Add sweetener, mix well and use as a free topping on fruit.

  • On a similar theme, if you aren't sure about quark, mix extra light soft cheese to pasta for a lovely sauce, add veggies/chicken as required. The herb/garlic ones are really tasty and only 1 point I think.

    Sounds tasty!!!!

I have never actually tried Quark but am inspired to now after reading Skint_Catt's tips :D

I've just tracked my points for the day... due to a little oatcake-based snack attack on arrival home, I am now 1 point over for today :( Those little beasts are sneakily high in points when you have 3 or 4! :o

But dinner is going to be a salad so that should make up for it. I have 3 activity points which will hopefully cover the damage and I am going to go to my recipe folder and start printing low point recipes this evening.

    Didnt quite get this one

1 biscuit out of pack of macvities mini choc digestives 2 points
1 pack of macvities mini choc digestives 2.5 points

so needless to say I had the full pack:eek:, still only on 11 points today though

i think they mean 1 bag from a multipack is 2pts - whereas if you buy a single bag they are 2.5pts (single bags are larger than multipack ones)

    Thanks for clarifying that flea72!

My salad is looking like it will be higher in points than I thought. So I'll be over my allowance for the day, even with the activity points. I'm just reading back over my day's points the worst offenders are definitely the oatcakes (a whole point each!!!!) and the nuts - 3 points for 6 nuts! I'll be steering clear in future, or just having the one. Shame - I love patcakes and nuts, and both are very healthy (fibre/lowGI carbs, and essential fatty acids).

Well done on all the wonderful weight losses - lots of Monday weigh ins - I chose Friday as I then have all week to be good!

for those who have gone down in points, you do realise you can get the point of food 'back' by doing a bit of extra exercise?:j:D

I had chicken and salad for tea, added a bit of mayo cos I had plenty of points left (I'm still on 27 points - yummy!) and was amazed it tracked at only half a point for a tablespoon - I even went and double checked using calories and saturated fat, and it still comes up at only half a point for one tbsp!! Go to two tbps and it's 1.5, so it's a 'big' half a points, iyswim.

Same with WWFH yoghurts - their toffee or vanilla yogurts are half apoint each, or 1.5 for two (well, they're not that big, are they?:o)
But if you have one toffee, and one vanilla rather than two the same flavour then it's only half a point each!!

Someone should remind me here I'm only cheating myself - but if it makes me feel like I'm getting a 'treat' then...:o

eta -as previously mentioned - they must be 0.7 points each - so rounded DOWN it is 0.5, but when it's two time 0.7, that makes 1.4, so it gets rounded UP to 1.5

How much are those WW yogurts these days ailuro2? I used to get them but they did seem quite expensive. They are great as a treat, you keep eating them if they keep you away from more fattening stuff!

I've had 24 points today but earned 3 points doing exercise, so I'm 4 points over. Could do better! My salad was spinach, tomato, mint, goat's cheese, red pepper and a little olive oil. Yum!! Only 4 points in total. Lunch (smoked salmon etc) was only 3.5 points. Breakfast was 7 points - 4 for the Greek yog and 3 for the nuts. Eeekers! I'm going to be having a boiled egg or two for brekkie in future.

I've been reading that Perricone book, forgot how interesting it is. I'll make a list of the superfood groups and post them here if anyone wants them.
