When I had the bridesmaids dresses made, they did matching wraps for them too. Hopefully I won't now need too much of the wrap material when the dresses are adjusted. 2 of the bridemaids tried their dresses on at New Year - one was slightly too loose, the other slightly too tight... I need to arrange a proper adjustment session with them all in February, the two young bridesmaids haven't tried their yet and apparently they keep growing!Live on £11k in 20110

So, a little updat3. I had my dress fitting yesterday which went very well. I now have shoes after getting annoyed in John Lewis (They had the right shoe that I have been trying to find a stockist for for ages on the sale shelf in my size. Took it over to the lady who said it was a display shoe and the other had been dyed. One was lovely and ivory, the other bright green! How wrong!)
My older bridesmaids looked gorgeous in their dresses but we still need shoes for them.
One of my younger bridesmaids got her shoes.
I think I might have decided how I want my hair, but that could change.
We had a meeting at the venue on Friday and finalised costs per head etc and gave the numbers based on those who have verbally replied. The only downside is that 6!!! of them have now replied and said they wont be staying for the meal but will be there for the ceremony and the disco. (Thinks thats weird when it's all at one venue but hey they've already made us change our plans once)
Going to look at rings later. I have a £25 off voucher for HSamuel if I order online so hopefully they will have one I want.
Bit of a rambling post but I'm pleased with my progress this week after weeks of getting nowhere.
Ooh have a new DJ too Yay0 -
picked up the rings on saturday and did our gift list around John Lewis. Seem to be getting through the long list of jobs. i've got my suit measuring tonight and we've just ordered the Order of Services to be printed!0

Utter madness.
I'm not going for order of service but still need to pick readings and readers. Oh the wonderful minefield that is families and weddings0 -
Hi Yellowbug - wanted to pick your brains if you don't mind!
I noticed from another thread that you seem to be based in West Wiltshire - I am getting married nr Devizes in march and still need to find a make up artist. I wondered if you had looked or found any reasonable quotes. I am based in London but will be in the area next week and realised I need to find someone asap if I want to book a trial before the day! (I am not panicking..really!!)
any tips anyone has would be very welcome0 -
hi cabunny
the girl doing my makeup actually works in the beauty bit of the hotel where we are having the reception, i met her at the wedding fair they held a little while ago
shes lovely and her make up was fab not over the top or anything
if you like i could send you her email address? just pm me about it
do you need help with any other local bits? im sure i can point you in the right direction for some things lolMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
Sounds like you're not far from me either, I live in Swindon (though the wedding is in Cambridge).
I'm getting the orders of service finished off next week, then we have to print them off and do a nice cover... I need to ask my Uncle to do a reading, H2B's Dad is doing the other one.
We've arranged a dress fitting for the bridesmaids at the end of February, so hopefully that will all go smoothly!
Just under 2 months to go for me!Live on £11k in 20110 -
yeah swindon isnt that far away (i often go shopping to the outlet there lol) its about 45minutes drive (or an hour if the traffic is crappy lol)
we really need to sit and sort out the order of service, but we just dont seem to have the time to get it done
amongst everything else (work, my business, wedding planning etc) i have a charity event that i organise thats hapening this sunday, so i have been desperately trying to get everything sorted for that, and one of my best friends (and future sister in law) mum had a stroke tuesday (at 44) so we have all been rallying round for her (this is after my friend getting engaged on monday, to my oh's brother...so we have gone from celebrating to looking after everyone)
there just isnt enough time in the day for everything lolMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
