Oooh, we now have a plan B for using the vouchers. We've booked our honeymoon with them - 8 nights at a YHA place in North Yorkshire! Private room though rather than the dorms ;-) So we'll be spending the honeymoon walking in the North Yorkshire moors, hopefully get to see Castle Howard, have a look round Whitby...Live on £11k in 20110

Sounds like heaven!
Ive just finished delivering the invites!0 -
Hope you're all getting on well! I have my first dress fitting tomorrow0

well i had my 2nd fitting on the 30th...dress was a little snug after crimbo lol
so i now have until my 3rd fitting (feb 10th) to get my tummy back in order else i wont be able to breath all day lol
while at my fitting, i saw a necklace in the cabinet that looked old but bloody lovely....so i asked to try it, turns out the lady that owns the shop bought it for her self when she was younger never wore it and then a couple of years ago popped it in the cabinet incase one day someone liked it.....i tried it on and it was perfectits about 8 strings of tiny tiny little pearls and i love it, it felt amazing on and goes with my dress so well ... so i had a little negotiation with her and bought it
then i went down to her sons jewellery shop and bought some pearl earings to match, they are tiny little pearls to as I wanted them to just pick up on the pearls in the necklace rather than distract from it ... oh and her son gave me 20% off them, oh and if I pop back to get marcs wedding ring he will give me 20% off that too so I am feelign quite pleased
hmm what else......
decided on waistcoats and cravats for the men, and have now found somewhere with cravats in the right colour so those will be ordered tonight I think.
still need to order the favours lol, really must do that soon else I wont have time to pretty them up for the wedding
all invites have gone out and I have had a few back too which makes it all feel very real
oh and while i think of it.......................................2 months till our wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Married on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
Hi Girls,
We are getting married on the 20th March. So exicted now it is so close. On the other hand we have been engaged nearly two years and it doesn't quite feel real since it is suddenly so close!
We still have some small stuff to organise but the list is long so seems like a lot. You've all got me worried now since many seem to have had dress fittings and i've not really thought about mine yet!
With all this snow im now really starting to worry that it wont be warm enough in March! Have any of you bought shrugs or jackets to go along with your or BM's dresses?0 -
Yellowbug, what time is your ceremony? Ooh its getting exciting.
That necklace sounds perfect and so unique.
I only booked my dress fitting yesterday, this is for length and to see how much I need to diet. Cant wait to put on the real dress for the first time. Haven't got my shoes yet though as have had to order them.
I had thought about getting some shawls to match the dresses. Having said that if its that cold I think normal jackets when outside and whip them off for the camera.0 -
ceremony is at 12, it was going to be at 1pm but I worked out with travelling time that was going to be a bit of a rush so moved it to 12 for a bit of 'breathing room' lol
i love my necklace so much ...as you can probably tell, if I remember next time I am at my mums (where I am storing all wedding items) I will take a photo to show you guys
i think the only reason i had my first fitting so early was because the lady in the shop had to go away so she wanted to get as much done before she went as possible, she doesnt come back till beginning of feb now
I have got the bridesmaids pashminas to pop round their shoulders, I got them while I was at the clothes show they were 2 for £5 which I thought was a bargain, they are ivory with sparkly bits...I know they wont help that much with warmth but they go with the dresses and its better than nothing
I have been looking for something for me too, but I havent found anything yet, I tried a furry shawl thing the other day but its just not very me
what shoes has everyone gone with in the end?

Yellowbug, sorry I didnt see your post yesterday, so please cast your mind back to when you wrote this yesterday and accept this little thought...
In exactly two months you will already be married :j:j:beer::j:j0 -
I had thought about pashminas but I couldnt find one in the right red (I never knew how fussy I was until I started planning the wedding) I think I'll have a look again on ebay.0
