Some people have started to ask me already when I'm going to send out the invites. I've only just sent off for a sample pack of the card to make them!Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0

so what is everyone hoping for weather wise for the wedding?
im hoping either a clear crisp kind of day, or snow would be awesome (it snowed here at that time this year lol)
i think it would be a bit much to hope for glorious sunshine lol so i just hope it doesnt tip down when we want to take photos, as the gardens at our venue are lovely
I don't mind about the weather because our ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening do are all in the same place. Although I don't want deep snow in case it hampers the guests' travel plans.Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0 -
My day is all at the same hotel but the ceremony is in a different building so I don't fancy a mad dash from door to door0

well i sent save the dates a little while ago so everyone has a chance to sort the time off work etc (as its a friday) and so overseas family can book flights
invites, as soon as we have been and picked the food at the venue I will finish them off and send them....so will probably be november time i guessMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
I've sent invites with an RSVP of the start of October so we've got relatively definite numbers - to be fair, everyone knew when and where it was already so it was pretty much a formality and I was being a cheap skate in avoiding save the date stuff. Only 2 no replies - one set we know will be coming anyhow, and the other is my grandad which is a touch hurtful but there's a minor family rift there (he thinks I'm an unpleasant madam who needs a slap lol).Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

Hello, another addition to the march 2010 wedding club! We are getting married on 19th March.
Apart from venue and registrar, plus hours of internet searching, I hadn't really organized much until this month! I have the dress ordered now, ceilidh band booked, catering booked, and sourced cake and florist.
We are having a purple theme, probably with some lilac also. I am trying to work out suitable seasonal flowers for my bouquet so talking to a local florist recently was really helpful. I had seen a couple of artificial bouquets I love but still have a hankering for real flowers if i can reign the cost in. Otherwise I will be getting loose flowers to arrange for simple table vases and hiring some big vases to put large lilac stems in.
Luckily our venue (everything taking place there) does lovely garlands around the main room and other arrangements for a really reasonable price. I am also decorating some tealight and voltive candle holders to dot around.
Mum is desperate for me to get on with making the invitations now but we will send them out early Jan so we miss the xmas post. It is a small wedding, so everyone knows the date already!
I adore those phase eight shoes! But trying to save on shoes plus make sure I can dance in them, so ordered some nice simple ones from barratts today. Bargain at £15 and free delivery, so hope they will fit

Good luck to you all with your planning, look forward to hearing more:T0 -
welcome cabunny
that all sounds lovelyMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
Hello Cabunny,
All very organised! Well Done!
We have 5 days of annual leave so have a big list of things to do.
Going bridesmaid dress shopping with my other bridesmaid on Thursday to see if we can find anything cheaper / nicer than the Dessy dress that was £165 (argh) that first bridesmaid found. (They live 250 miles apart and one has a toddler so shopping together unlikely). Hoping alfred angelo might produce the goods.
Going to make our invitations. Planning to send them mid November because venue want numbers and payment 12 weeks before (!) My idea is to tell them a couple less than we're expecting and then pay the difference later rather than end up with any no shows...
Have given up and agreed to go to a florist (or two) to see if we can get a quote for small bouquet as I can't find anything artificial that I like in pink. Have found beautiful artificial flowers in teal / gerberas etc etc but not what I want. Doesn't help that I am more science than creativity.
Also having cars dilemna. Can feel costs creeping up but not sure how to rein in? Parents not helping as they just keep calling me a cheapskate and asking who they can invite?! (They aren't paying... we are... so I keep pointing out that I choose the list)
Ooops, that was a longer post than I was expecting. Nice to have somewhere to come and ramble about these issues.

Hope you had some luck looking for the dresses, sounds like quite a task coordinating everyone!
I am just having a flowergirl, my 2 yr old niece, who will completely steal the show (well, thats the plan..share the limelight!) She is in Germany though, so we are waiting til nearer March to look for her dress as she is growing fast at the moment anyway.
I think I am going to change the design of my invitations. I liked my mock up but
have decided it is too lilac and not purple enough. Just need to work out how to make the design I have in my head now!
How is everyone getting on with their planning?0 -
Hiya! my wedding is March 8th. Doing it abroad though on our own. So its 2 weeks abroad then when we come back "Honeymoon" will be Centre parcs with the kids then we're having our reception on our first anniversary. Mainly due to money as i want quite a lavish one but cant afford everything in one go! Got my dress and shoes etc, hubby 2 be just has to get his and our rings and thats us pretty much sorted as everything else is done at that end - LOVE reading about everyone elses wedding though, so much effort and time has gone into everything, good luck March brides! x0
