Ooo yes, help molly and then I can steal too?!
    Pink is the way forward...
Goody, new March brides, I feel like I'm in a club...
Lynda - the tree photos are a lovely idea.
We're racking our brains to find someone to help us with a car - My uncle has access to suitable ones but unfortunately due to a mass family fallout, I don't think they will be 'allowed' to come. (Not by me, again, it's complicated)

Bridesmaid-wise... Was given the idea of similar dresses by same designer so BM 1 and I went and she tried on 5 or 10 Dessy dresses. She liked two, of which I liked one (!) BUT it costs £165! OMG. My dress was only £200 (Maggie Sottero via ebay from a girl who had bought two dresses and changed her mind).

Yellowbug: Who is your ebay lady? That may well be the answer for us...

Good chat with vicar on Wed, have chosen hymns and have a good idea of how things are going to work. Hurrah!
Friend of a friend has donated all her old unused wedding stuff including vases, foliage and favour boxes so it looks like we'll be able to have fancier decorations than I was expecting. Hurrah again!

If anyone wants to do some idea stealing ;-) I'm getting these dresses for the bridesmaids: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140338930952&var=440000047480&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I've made the flowers using silk ones, there are some photos under the sticky about making flowers in the top of this weddings section. If you can't see them let me know and I'll hunt for the link. Gerberas are the 'main' flower, with lilies and orchids.

I've had the menus through from the venue and they sound lovely but will have to find out if they can cater for the numerous allergies amongst the guests! Probably going for duck as a main course.... We can't really afford the posh meal and their wine though. I'm hoping that if we ask really nicely they will let us provide a few bottles of wine ourselves - fingers crossed!

  • flowers - i really want to have roses in there as I have 3 roses on my dress so i want to pick up on that a bit :)

but other than that I havent really decided what to have yet...I like the bouquets that are a mix of all different flowers, so they dont look really perfect if you know what I mean..ill see if I can find some photos lol

Im more concerned about the colours really, as you are having pink I would think there are lots of flowers in the right colour, but I want ivory and brown....not so common lol (unless I have a dead bouquet I guess :D )

the person im using on ebay is

  • I've ordered wraps for the bridesmaids dresses from the person making the dresses, but didn't think about it when I bought my dress!

  • so what is everyone hoping for weather wise for the wedding?

im hoping either a clear crisp kind of day, or snow would be awesome (it snowed here at that time this year lol)

i think it would be a bit much to hope for glorious sunshine lol so i just hope it doesnt tip down when we want to take photos, as the gardens at our venue are lovely

  • Hi,

I'm hoping for a clear day but I'll be happy with anything other than torrential rain. Saying that the image of me running in my dress with several bridesmaids attached to the back could make a nice picture. :rotfl:

My colour is claret and I have silk roses for me and the younger bridesmaids (with ivory dresses and claret sashes) and ivory rose with claret dresses for the older bridesmaids. Got my roses from a wholesaler and they are made into a perfect bouquet (have added pearls). There was another the same but the shape was a bit off so bought these and will split them for the others.
