Ordered my shoes today from Phase Eight. I looked everywhere but always wanted these ones which I had first seen in Phase Eight - but they were too expensive. Now in the sale :j These ones http://www.phase-eight.co.uk/pws/ProductDetails.ice?ProductID=750155106&redirect=true
Also had a trawl round the shops for bridesmaids dresses but no luck. :rolleyes:Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0 -

Just remembered need to do rings too.
ah so same year but our birthdays are almost a year apart, as mine is 4th January....so you will turn 25 and then a week later Ill be 26
oh we need rings too...I want a 2mm 18ct white gold band....so far it looks like it will be coming from ebay as Im struggling to find on anywhere else
marc isnt a jewellery person, but is going for a subtle titanium ring also from ebay...just need to see what size he is....and if he cant get on with it then he is going to get a thumb ring insteadmollymunchkin wrote: »20th March here too! We set the date only a few weeks ago so early days in regards to preparation here. It will be easier to say what I have done rather than what needs to be done!
Done:
bought dress
booked venue & registrar
bought a few bits for table decorations
a friend has offered to do make up
another friend is baking the cupcakes
um, that's it!
Off to look for bridesmaid's outfits tomorrow. I better get a wiggle on
hello and welcome
oh did you find any bridesmaid outfits? We're having pink and silver. OH's choice as he knew that was what he wanted to wear. Difficult because I was hoping to get off the peg bridesmaid dresses and there is nothing in the shops at the moment in the right pink colour. Plus one bridesmaid is flat chested size 10-12 and other bridesmaid is large chested size 16-18. Neither thinks that they should wear the same dress as it won't suit. Any ideas? Keep meaning to start a thread to ask, but am a bit nervous of posting still!
Actually it's really pretty though and easy to get other matching stuff.
Flowers. Hmm. Hadn't realised it was mother's day. How daft am I?! Was going to have ribbons in church (as it's Lent and they would prefer that anyway). Then I was thinking about silk / foam flowers or wooden roses.
We're on a tight budget as the more money we save, the further we can go on our honeymoon!
I would suggest getting the bridesmaids different style dresses in the same colour, that way they will match in with everything but look good
alternatively, you could get them out shopping and both try on a load of different style dresses to see if anything suits both of them? then look for it in the right colour?
I am getting my dresses from a lady on ebay who is making them, so I found a style she had that I liked then asked her for colour samples in the colours I wanted so I could pick the right colour and have the dresses made
to be honest I hadnt thought of mothers day either...it was only because my friend told me lol
Our church is letting us have flowers, provided we put them up and take them down straight after the wedding which is nice of them
I had also considered beaded hearts....I saw them in a local shop and they are gorgeous.....but about £20 each so that put me off quite quickly lol
well I did a bit of shopping yesterday
Got the Flower girl a little cardigan incase its cold - was in the next outlet store so was a bargain and matches her dress lovely
Got the bridesmaids necklaces and earrings, pearl look from claires, and from the outlet again so I got it all for £20 bargain
oh and the bridemaid shoes have turned up...they are so prettyMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -

Hi all, I'm another March bride, also getting married on the 13th March. Venue booked, reception at same place but the food isn't arranged yet. Band, wedding and bridesmaid dresses all sorted thanks to ebay. So are the rings and most of the flowers, I've done the flowers myself! A friend is making the cake and a couple of other friends doing the photos, and we'll be getting to the chapel in my classic car.
I didn't realise it was the weekend of Mothers Day, my Mum died 4 years ago so I guess getting married around mothers day might be extra special (or potentially even harder) as I really wish she was around to help!Live on £11k in 20110 -
lyndasharp - welcome to our little gang
im so sorry to hear about your mum, hugs to you
I would say although it might make it hard, it will also make it special for you as it is a nice way to remember your mum at the same time
Also I have seen some lovely ideas for including those people who are no longer around in weddings, for instance I saw one thing where a woman had 2 charms that were like mini frames, and they had photos of her grandparents in them ...that was really lovely
what car do you have? Im hoping to get a quote for the welding on my bug this week so we can get that fixed up ready for useMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -

Thanks for the welcomeThe wedding venue is actually the place I went to university. Mum loved visiting the gardens there, so after she died the donations paid for a bench and a couple of trees, and I'll definitely be having some photos taken by 'her' tree.
I've got a Morris Minor - we still have a bit of thinking to do as it won't fit me and the bridesmaids (ended up with 4 bridesmaids from my original 2 after some family persuasion). My Dad's also got a Morris Minor but we were going to get him to drive mine, so that still leaves us a driver short! I'm sure we can convince someone else to drive one - one of my former housemates (who will be at the wedding) says he still misses driving my car aroundIt was really useful when we lived together - it meant I wasn't always the one driving home after a night out!
Hope the welding isn't too expensive and you get your bug up and running in time for the wedding!Live on £11k in 20110 -
ahhh thats very sweet
you should definetly have photos taken there, even if it makes you a little bit teary it will really make you feel like you involved her
im sure you will be able to convince someone to drive for you
hopefully the quote will be sensible and we will be able to get it done soon...i really miss driving my bug around
we will be using my bug and number of my friends new beetles, split screen campers etc for all the wedding partythey are all very excited about having their pride and joys involved in the day

The funny bit is - the guy my oh works with and sits next to at work - is also getting married March 20th... they're trying to start a rumour they're marrying each other (for some strange reason they think this is funny).Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

What flowers are you all having? I want to try and find some spring flowers, preferably in season but I understand that it's quite early on in the season. I want pale pastel colours or dusky pink.
I need to steal some ideasCos I don't shine if you don't shine.0
