    13th March! Very excited.
Can't decide about honeymoon at all. Keep looking at brochures but it's all so difficult.
6k budget for wedding and we can't agree a budget for honeymoon...

We're doing okay in terms of organising...
Booked church (going to chat to Vicar next week)
    Booked venue
Designed invites and bought everything we'll need for all the paperwork from ebay
    Booked photographer
Chosen cake (M&S) and bookmarked all the sites I want to use to buy sparkly bits from! (Thanks MSE)
Bought my dress (ebay)/ shoes (monsoon) / jewellery (market type stall at shopping centre)
Booked suits for the men (Silver tails!)
The bridesmaids have chosen their dresses but they're not ordered (bit of a trauma story there, and I think they're too expensive but hey ho)
Thought a lot about table decorations - why doesn't what I want come in under budget ;)

    Nice to meet you

  • 20th March here - venue booked, invites out (I was saving cash on save the date cards), 99% of RSVPs back (apparently my grandfather can't be bothered to come or tell us), buffet menus being drawn up, reception entertainment apparently booked (mother's taken it over and I'm going along for a quiet life basically), pencilled in to have hair and nails done on the morning of the day, photos and cake delegated to willing relatives...

Still need to buy rings, order dress (trying to hold off a bit since I'm losing weight fast and may well end up pregnant anyway), get drinks bought (have to take our own to the venue), transport to/from for us, work out what oh's wearing (prob just going to buy a normal suit since he needs one and hiring stuff is a nightmare with his height!)...that's about it really.

Mother's gone all mummyzilla and is trying to make everything I wanted nice and informal into the wedding of the decade style thing... I'm just leaving her to it to be honest!

oh we were going to have ours that weekend, but someone I really want at the wedding is a florist, and because its mothers day that weekend her work told her she couldnt have any time off...so we went for the week before instead lol

actually talking about florists and mothers day....make sure you get in there early if you are having a florist do the flowers...I am told a lot of places wont take on weddings that weekend cus they are already too busy???

Sounds like you are doing well on the planning, i ordered bridesmaid shoes yesterday....after saying I wasnt going to pay for them lol they were on offer and I really want them all to match so I just did it.....now Ill just have to see if any of them volunteer any cash towards paying for them :)

  • 24 til xmas!

Just remembered need to do rings too.
  • 20th March here too! We set the date only a few weeks ago so early days in regards to preparation here. It will be easier to say what I have done rather than what needs to be done!

    Done:
    bought dress
    booked venue & registrar
bought a few bits for table decorations
a friend has offered to do make up
another friend is baking the cupcakes
    um, that's it!

Off to look for bridesmaid's outfits tomorrow. I better get a wiggle on :p
Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.

We're having pink and silver. OH's choice as he knew that was what he wanted to wear. Difficult because I was hoping to get off the peg bridesmaid dresses and there is nothing in the shops at the moment in the right pink colour. Plus one bridesmaid is flat chested size 10-12 and other bridesmaid is large chested size 16-18. Neither thinks that they should wear the same dress as it won't suit. Any ideas? Keep meaning to start a thread to ask, but am a bit nervous of posting still!
Actually it's really pretty though and easy to get other matching stuff.

Flowers. Hmm. Hadn't realised it was mother's day. How daft am I?! Was going to have ribbons in church (as it's Lent and they would prefer that anyway). Then I was thinking about silk / foam flowers or wooden roses.
We're on a tight budget as the more money we save, the further we can go on our honeymoon!
