  • We decided on the vows last night, and chose the prayers etc. H2B really liked the traditional form where you 'plight your troth'. I admit I am less keen on that version but I decided that as he really likes it we may as well go with that. I'm not planning to obey though ;-) Has anyone else had a look at that yet?

which reminds me, we are supposed to be sitting and deciding on all of that stuff lol

  • How did the tasting and the dress fitting go, Yellowbug?

Just trying to convince our venue to invoice us before the VAT increase at the moment... Otherwise it's pretty quiet, planning to have another chat to the chaplain between Christmas and New year to get the details of the service finalised, and I expect I'll be taking my Dad suit shopping then too.

  • tasting went fantastically :)
i was a bit nervous cus my mum and dad and my nan came along, and my mum and my nan can be very fussy about food so I was worried they wouldnt like it and then there would be loads of problems lol...but no such things happened, everyone loved every course and we are very happy with our choices so thats a good start :)
I mocked up the invites yesterday and think I have all that sorted now...just need to confirm the start time for the evening reception as Im not sure how long everything will take ...going to call the venue in a bit and ask what they think

and dress fitting was great too.....got to see how well i coped in my shoes lol was stood for just under an hour in one place and they only just started to ache a bit..but i did stay completely still no movement at all :)
dress still fits perfectly so thats good news, my undies were perfect under the dress and my shoes look fab, you can just catch a glimpse of them as i walk when the light catches on the gold bits
so dress is all pinned now to be taken up a little bit, and she is putting some thing at the back for me so I can hook the train up for dancing
oh and while i was there she took the netting out from underneath....cus i didnt like it, and it is ten times better now without it in there so much comfier and it looks better as its makes me look slimmer (always a good thing)

    all good here

  • Glad the tasting was good!

I'm really annoyed as we were going to book 2 nights in the Best Western hotel in Cambridge for the wedding, a room for us and for the best man, using clubcard vouchers. We'd exchanged them for tokens, rang up to book, and were told they are not accepting the tokens at that particular hotel from January! It wasn't even on their info sheet, or on the website. The only other clubcard option is the Hilton, and we don't have anywhere near enough tokens for that :mad::mad:
