any March 2010 brides/grooms?

Hi to the new people! We've just had a slight change to our wedding car plans as have bought an old Merc 7 seater estate car. It means all the bridesmaids will fit in! Might have to just take a few photos next to my Morris Minor though ;-)
We're going to sort out the catering a week on Monday. We sent out invites in late August as there are lots of people travelling a long way. Had about half the replies back so we have a better idea of how many people are turining up!Live on £11k in 20110 -
20th March for us too!
Got most of the main stuff sorted:
Church sorted
Venue sorted, DJ booked, Harpist booked, menu selected
Brides dress is made, had first fitting
Bridesmaid dresses have arrived
Suits booked
Stag and hen do's sorted
Honeymoon booked
Cars booked
1st night hotel booked
Invites produced
Order of service currently being organised
There is probably something I've forgotten, but it's mainly the smaller things like hairdressers, bridesmaid stuff, table plans etc etc that needs to be sorted now
think we're (she's!) on top of things!!0 -
Ooh let me join in. I'm getting married on the 30th March. Its a wednesday so sent out save the date cards ages ago, but am now getting ready to send the invites out. We've booked the venue and the registrar and I have got my dress. Am going to buy some shoes and am in the process of looking at bridesmaids dresses for now, and my partner is looking at the food options as we are having a hog roast rather than formal catering. Am getting very excited but have realised I am so lazy and should probably have more sorted out by now lol.No more spending hard - Time for the scrimping!0

I'm getting hitched on 5th March too. The colours are white and royal blue.
Wedding dress is a gorgeous white one from TK Maxx. Bridesmaids' dresses are from BHS (royal blue with sequins) £35, but I got them with 20% a couple of weeks back (plus I had a £10 love2shop voucher which I used). Both bridesmaids tried them on and both love them, so all is well.
Have booked venue (50% payment due this week...), registrar and DJ. Making invitations this week to send off by the end of next week, need to find flowers (having silk roses) and shoes...
Groom is having a normal suit (which is what he wants) with a tie (which I have already) which we'll pick up in the sales.
All seems to be OK so far but we have no photographer as yet...and we live 200 miles away from the venue (it's in Leeds, we're in Croydon - job forced relocation in September).
Nice to see what stage the rest of you are atGood luck everyone!

hello to all you newbies
well i thought i better update you all on my planning
the sample bridesmaids dress came from ebay..................and i cried, it looked like a child had made it, and its so short I couldnt believe it..........so needless to say we wont be having them from there
i remembered seeing the perfect dress in coast a while back so when my mum and dad were out at the weekend they went in search of the dresses for me...and managed to find them......reduced from £130 to £85, they got 3 in bath and then I had to go in search of the last one which has now arrived from the shop in leeds lol
3 are tried on and fit the girls perfectly, just the last to try on now....fingers crossed it fits else i will be back to square one
oh and the shoes I got go perfectly with these dresses too
we have our menu tasting in the next couple of weeks, so will be able to make some decisions and get the invitations out
a family friend has offered to do ym flowers for me, so now I just need to get some inspiration as to what i actually want so she can look at getting the flowers and stuff
thing thats about it at the moment

Oh gosh, that's not good news about the eBay dresses is it!
Were they meant to be short or were they shorter than you were led to believe? If the latter, are you sending them back? I would!
Good news about the new dresses though, glad you and the girls like them!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
no they were meant to be about knee length ish....but they did the measurement from the top of the dress instead of under the bust...making it scary short lol
i still havent quite decided what to do about it, i think im going to email them and ask for my money back simple because of the seriously poor quality, but im not too hopeful to be honestMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
Sorry to hear about your dress problems Yellowbug.
I saw a nice looking satin wrap on ebay with embroidered bits, and it's just arrived - but has lots of marks on the back, looks like makeup and possibly a footprint. It's maybe my fault for not checking, as looking back at the ad it didn't mention condition at all. I just assumed it would be OK. I'll have to contact the seller and see what they say. It was only £5 so it's worth me trying to handwash it, I think...
I've just ordered the mead for the toast from our local M0rrisons. Duty manager had clearly never heard of mead and asked me what colour it was.... If they have managed to cope, it should be ready for collection next week sometime. No idea where were are going to store it - we already have a cupboard full of wine (which we've now decided not to use due to ridiculous corkage charges at the venue, so will have to drink it ourselves).Live on £11k in 20110 -
