  • Im still getting grief from loads of duplicates on the credit card. If I select 'recent transactions', I miss some, and if I select 'previous transactions', I get loads of duplicates. I cant find any way of selecting dates more specifically on the credit card.

At this rate Im going to have to download VB and start programming again, (havent done that for at least ten years tho). I suspect (hope) that NW will have been nagged into providing an ofx before I get round to that.

Could someone please post an idiot's guide to setting up this file conversion process? I'm sure it's not just me that cannot follow the steps detailed on these posts. I'm stumped after downloading the MT thing - it won't open - script error. Thanks.

I'm sorry but I don't have the time to write a guide, it was pretty straightforward for me, but I am heavily into computers. I suggest you post on the mt2ofx forum

Copy this text and put an h at the front ttp://mt2ofx.dyndns.org:81/forum/default.asp and paste it into your browsers address bar, as this stupid forum will not let me post links yet, just how many posts do I need?

I've installed MS Money on Windows 7 32 bit and it appears to work, not used it much as it was my laptop. It works in Vista so it should work on W7.

You could have either 32 or 64 bit, but it should work on both, but we're getting off topic.

Sorry. Will remove posts now. Thanks for explaining.

On topic though. Have now given up on Nationwide. No interest no faster payments and no MS Money facility.
  • I've only just seen this thread, but for anyone still struggling with Nationwide I can recommend the course of action which I followed - move everything over to Natwest! I did that as soon as I heard about the turn-off of Money support (which was before it actually happened). I had two current accounts, a credit card and a dozen e-savings accounts with Nationwide (I do like to over complicate my financial arrangements). I did not fancy messing about trying to sort out synchronising everything myself, especially if it would involve me having to do each account separately.

Natwest have excellent OFX support, they have user-definable e-savings accounts like Nationwide (in fact better because each has it's own sort code and account number) and you can download data from all accounts in one simple OFX file which imports straight into Money.

The changeover was very smooth and I'm all up-and-running with Natwest now. I was sorry to say goodbye to Nationwide, because I think they're generally very good, but excellent online support is non-negotiable for me (and was the reason I went for Nationwide originally).

Thanks for the info. One thing I still like about Nationwide is that money transferred between Nationwide accounts is pretty much instant whether this is between your current and e-savings account or between your current account and someone else's current account. What's the deal with Natwest?

    TIA

If you want to prevent Money from asking which account to import data into then you can download a modified csv script that I have created.
This supports Flexaccount, e-Savings, ISA and InvestDirect accounts.

Let me know if these instructions work!!

@rpb424 - This is very useful, am going to try it tonight. As I have two Flex accounts and two e-Savings accounts, will I need to modify and install into MT2OFX two different versions of this script?

I have actually been using the converter as shipped for the last week but it works only on the Flex accounts. The E-Savings accounts always generate a VBasic script error in MT2OFX.

    Thanks for your hjelp

    Hi

I'm having some problems loading e-savings .csv files into MT2OFX. Seems like the format is different from that used when loading normal statements from (e.g.) flexaccounts. Has this changed recently as the Nationwide .vbs script keeps crashing? Can anyone help me?

NB: I've also had a look at rpb424's script but I can't see anything that will resolve this but maybe I'm missing something???

    Thanks.
