I suspect that she might not be allowed to come again! She did actually stop crying and was persuaded through to watch the telly but as soon as her mum appeared the waterworks went on again and chief complaint was that "They ate my dinner before I had a chance to eat it!"
I said my piece, but you could see the mum wasn't entirely convinced. So there I am, the horrible mum that let her kid starve. I bet my socks that they went to McDonalds on the way home.Val.0 -
Jayward thats great news about your husbands job!! must be a big relief.
lol Valk_scot that sounds like my DS and his autistic food habits.
Even if someone gave him the same food as I do it would have to be presented the same also.....eg pancakes always have to be rolled up and cut into pieces and put on the plate in 3 lines.:D
Not feeling too good tonight really, having to use my inhaler a lot and feeling really breathless.
Am starting to worry that I wont be well enough for work on Monday:o
I just dont feel right at all and it is worrying me a bit.:rolleyes:0 -
Oh dear, oh dear, if I confess something, will you all bite your tongues?
When my DS was little and being spoiled by Gran about his choices of food, I took a stand and insisted he ate some mince for his evening meal. The choice, eat it or... don't. He chose not to, and it was served for breakfast. Lunch, and by evening I was getting desparate and hoping I wasn't going to have to feed him green meat. I knew suddenly I'd lost it when my desparation and the situation moved on and I found myself kneeling on his chest trying to force a spoon of it into his mouth. That was the end of my campaign. This was while I was living with my mum in one room of her house.
Once we'd moved out, I still applied "Eat it ... or don't" but with less force, and panic over nutrition. Both my kids are now normal eaters, normal weight, and surprisingly normal after having me for a mother.

Oh dear, between valk_scotts description of FC, and JackieO's description of her daughters interview, I've been in stitches! Wasn't going to post today, as nothing os due to work and kids homework (grrrrrr is all I will say about that!), but reading those 2 threads in particular has cheered me up no end!

No os, and in fact a total lack of housework will be takng place for next couple of days, as its my 2 long days at work, and I'll be too knackered to do anything. Hopefully I won't have to stay on and deal with anything, 11 hours is more than enough. Saturday will be entertaining, as they are turning the electricity off for most of the day. No computers, no telephones, exactly how they think we'll be able to process prisoners properly I don't know. Oh well, will be entertaining I'm sure!0 -

No, she's not got Aspergers. She comes round to play with DD quite a lot and is perfectly happy then, apart from asking for all sorts of snacks that I never have. First time she's been here for a meal. DD is always keen to go round to her house for tea and now I know why...Mars Bar milkshakes indeed, lol! I buy chocolate Nesquick for a treat when we go camping but I don't think I've ever bought them a bottled milkshake in my life, poor deprived little souls that they are.
On the autistic bit though one of my son's friends has Aspergers plus is vegetarian, and I've always managed just fine with him. He likes squares of cheese and crunchy toast with no butter if he's here unexpectedly and needs fed and I'm fine with that. There's Fussy Child and there's Reasonable Preferences, no?
Anyway, the house has settled down, the kids are in bed, Hubby is out at his wargames club and i've even cleaned up the kitchen. Now debating as to whether I go and watch the telly and do some knitting, or go to bed.Val.0 -
I think I'm having one of those days today .Just went to switch the kitchen light on ,big bang and the lights have fused .Seperate fuse for central lights from plugs thank goodness.Went to find torch in cupboard and guess what batteries are flat, so have got a light rigged from a small lamp plugged into the wall socket and I will delve around in the cupboard under the stairs tomorrow when its light .Oh for a big strong chap to say 'there there I'll sort it ' No way am I fumbling about in a cupboard in the dark that may have the odd spider's web in it at this time of night. Right I'm off to bed I've got a side light by my bed that I can read by at least .Why is it always at night when the fuses blow ??
Night Night all

Another day with proper meals! My parents are here, Dad convalescing after iillness. They hoped for the south of France....W isn't quite the same. Still, things going along OK.
Got loads done before I went into work this afternoon. Mum has been helping. this morning she gave the hob a really good scrub and I did the extractor. It's a big job. I cheated and put the cooker grids and middle sections of the extractor in the DW.
Mum also helped dd with some of her packing for Uni.
I made a nice tea, sausages (2 sorts) from the freezer, potato over catered from yesterday deliberately, mum's home grown cabbage. Made some vanilla icecream and some hot cherry sauce. Was mmm. Lunch was the rest of the HM soup from yesterday.
DH away, back tomorrow, away another 3/4 days next week.
