Morning all :) hope you are all well :)

Not bad at all; cola is usually a part of my breakfast :D The other part is normally Krispy Cremes :D Although today I had potato crisps and sprite for a change :rotfl:

That's what you call a varied diet! DS was staying at school for an event last night so saved his packed lunch till teatime. Went to shops for lunch, as 6th formers are allowed to do this. Asked what he had...'Traditional' (don't get him started!! Wrong ingredients according to him) Cornish Pasty and 3 gingerbread men for 99p. Total cost somewhere over £2. He doesn't do this very often, so I'm not that bothered. He would rather have his packed lunch than either school canteen or go to the shops.

  • Well not much OS`ing going on here today as I have been ordered to rest:rolleyes:....it ok saying that but who is going to do the stuff that needs doing:confused:.
At least I saw the GP and got it sorted....when I rang at first they were going to give me an appointment for next Thurs:p....I explained the situation and they said come down now..but I had to sit in a room away from other patients and the GP had gloves and mask on:cool:
I also had to take DS as OH was at work....DS not impressed and informed me he was watching " The large family" and couldnt go:D. I was also about to put his HM chicken pie in the oven when it all happened.
He did behave in the GP but in the pharmacy I spent 10 mins lying on him on the floor to keep him still while he shouted "chicken pie" and" I can hear the fire alarm woooo":o It was really busy and I just said" sorry about the noise...autism" to no one in particular.....was glad to get home!
Bitsy unfortunately it seems many mens lives do not change once the kids arrive...but they should! If he wont give you a lie in he needs to let you have an afternoon nap at the weekend to catch up. I was ready to kill OH on Sunday when he took to his bed with a migraine when I was really ill. He apologised after and said " I was really ill and just couldnt get up"...hmm but I had to:o.
    Hi Mudgekin :hello:

    Hi guys,

I am finally feeling a little better after this bout of whatever it was. Threw in the towel on Monday and saw the GP and he diagnosed a chest infection but the antibiotics seem to be doing their job. He called it an opportunist infection - seems that the original illness damped down the immune system enough for the chest infection to take hold.

Little OS has gone on here allthough I have done bits in fits and starts over the last week or so. The WM is on and there is a bologneise in the SC for tea. The house is a bit dusty and the lawn in dire need of a mow but it can all wait for another few days, the kids are clean tidy and fed and that is the only important thing.

Candygirl, gentle hugs to you and yours, what a dreadful thing to happen to your BIL. xxx

Elona, my condolonces to you on your loss. xx

I hope you all have a good day- hugs to all those who could do with one.

    Smoky. xxx

Smoky, your children won't remember the dust as they get older, but they will remember that they had a loving home, food to eat and clothes to wear. I'll just find my 'dust if you must' poem!
Dust if you must but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture or write a letter,

Bake a cake or plant a seed.
Ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb,
Music to hear and books to read,
Friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must but the world's out there
With the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain.
This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go and go you must,
You, yourself, will make more dust.

...usually I rarely even need to take my inhaler as my asthma is so mild.
Am now on 3 days high dose steroids and the GP said if I hadnt had the course of Tamiflu the Swine Flu would have hospitalised me

That's why I have my flu jabs and will get a swine flu jab when available, even though my asthma is exercise-induced rather than constant......it's an infection which seems to be targeting the lungs (hence the cough) so I second NPM's advice.

I always remember my mum giving me a hankie that said "Only Dull Women Have Tidy Houses".... think it was her way of saying what goes around comes around, as I had a horribly untidy room as a kid & was threatened with bin bags on several occasions!

    Morning all

It's an absolutely lovely day outside, so I've been sat in the garden this morning :)

I didn't get round to popping in yesterday, so have a lot of catching up to do.

We went for a meal to Bella Italia - part of my plan to teach DDs the wonders of the world, and had a really nice time. Mind you, time with friends is always nice. I had an asparagus and pancetta risotto, which was :drool::drool: and being a true MSE'r, I printed out the 2 courses and a drink for £10 vouchers :)

As no-one wanted to eat when we got back, it was a pretty easy day, all round :) Spain will be our next country, so will be on the lookout for a Spanish restaurant - and money off vouchers :D

Back to today, WM is on the go and the second load is in now. I've got a chicken and sweetcorn soup in the SC and DDs are busy making refrigerator biscuits.

We've just started collecting the Billy Bones weekly magazine and parts set, so will begin putting our skeleton together this afternoon. We've also been reading 'Beware Princess Elizabeth' about Elizabeth I, which we've all enjoyed so will hopefully get to finish that later.

Sorry to read about all the sadness people are having with family ect :( I send my wishes to you all.

I like your poem purpleivy. I'm going to print it out :)

Hope it doesn't take too long on the clean up Aussie.

Hugs to everyone who needs them. Enjoy your day all, whatever you're doing :)

    Morning Everyone

Love the dust poem - it's just fits me, my answer is take my glasses off.

Bitsy - maybe the only way is to say, enough is enough we have one day each at weekends, I'll have Saturday, and you can have Sunday (or vice versa) and then just lie there and brave it out, and ensure you kick him awake and say your turn. It will hurt you but maybe only take a couple of times to realise you mean it.;)

Thriftlady - spontaneous romantic guestures -v- domesticated and does more than share of chores - no competition :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:- me I'm spoilt rotten and love it.

NPM - look after yourself. Makes sense, that you have to be in a different rooma nd masked and gloved at the GP and then they send you to queue at the pharmacy :rolleyes::confused:

Pipkin - La Tosca - eat all you like for £10 ea. Sunday- Tues - + there was a voucher a week or two ago.

Route Planning, Tax reclaiming, general organising for me, plus having an alarm fitted on the garage. Still need to finalise House+Contents Insurance and decide on whether to go for 45 day with free bank Travel Insurance or pay £50 for annual policy so can match to the house insurance 60 days - decision, decisions. One made - crossing on Sunday and hotel booked for Sunday night.

OS - using up the freezer.
