brillinat everyone, lets keep them coming, dont just stick to beaches....how about walks?
The Blue Door "Burn Walk" near Edzell for me.To be able under all circumstances to practice five things constitutes perfect virtue; these five things are gravity, generosity of soul, sincerity, earnestness and kindness.0 -
another vote for Lunan Bay
as well as being beautiful, the approach is part of the appeal, wending your way through those lanes in the dunes
great memories of trips with the kids when they were little. we even loved the day it was a clear 80 degrees inland but so misty when we got to the bay that we had to call to each other if we were more than about 10 feet apart
also great memories of a pre-kids beach party0 -
Balmedie for me as well and also Forvie Sandstravelover0

For me it has to be the beach between Portknockie and Cullen on the Moray coast. Sandy, clean, possible dolphin watching, rocks at one end and a walk up to the best ice cream shop in Cullen to complete a summers or winters walk.
Wish I was there now!0 -
Despite the somewhat dodgy links to the past, Gruinard Bay is absolutely beautiful.
There are just so many beatiful beaches all the way round from, say, Poolewe to Thurso.
Or how about "Ben's Beach", Camusdarrach (I think) near Arisaig.0 -
Another vote for the beach at Calgary on the Isle of Mull from me.
On the north east coast of the Isle of Coll is another beautiful beach, at the Cairns of Coll. The sea is crystal clear and the only disturbance/noise is from sea birds and the seals singing. It's an idyllic place to visit.:j

It is lovely - very white sand and clear water. Have to say most of the beaches I've been to in Sutherland over the years are great in different ways, be hard to pick out a favourite. Personally I like beaches with a few rock formations breaking up the sand, not keen on the flat stretching for miles without any features variety.0
