Sandwood Bay is stunning:
So is Calgary Bay on Mull:
And Kiloran Bay on Colonsay:
Or Seacliff (near North Berwick) for somewhere nearer home (Edinburgh):
Sea Cliff Beach
From Dunbar take the Al towards Edinburgh, turning off to the 198 for North Berwick, follow this road through the village of Whitekirk and continue to the farm "Auldhame". On the right hand side of the road before a sharp left bend, just after the farmhouse on the right, is a turning to the right leading to Seacliff Beach. This beach is private and there is a charge of £2 at the barrier in order to gain access. Features: Car parking £2 in the form of 2 x £l coins. Caves and views of Tantallon Castle and the Bass Rock secret harbour - this is an exceptionally beautiful white sandy beach, with staggering views."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

Not been to this one, but it looks good:
Oldshoremore Bay, Lochinver, Highland, Scotland.
I would agree with Elie Beach in Fife and on the West Coast the silver sands of Morar near Mallaig, Calgary Bay on Mull is a great island beach, as is the bay at the back of the ocean (I think that's what it's called?) on Iona and there are some stunning white sand turquoise sea beaches in the Outer Hebrides:

I have to go with Lunan Bay,only 15 miles up the road from me.
My closest beach, Broughty Ferry beach next to city of Dundee used to be filthy, but dogs are now banned and the sewage treatment plant has removed all the waste that used to come back into the beach.Miles and miles of beach to walk along. There's a castle with free entry (donation if desired) with exhibits for the kids, a kids playpark, crazy golf in summer and shops 2 minutes walk inshore if it's more of a day away you're looking for than just a remote beach;)
Lots of good chippies too- can't go to the beach without a visit to the chippieMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Lunan Bay for myself as well.
We used to have a caravan in Seaton not far from Lunan and used to go often.
Broughty ferry beach not been there for years but the park would get 15 out of 10 if i was to rate it.0 -
