  • Hi gonebelly up,

Darnit and Donna are right. I expected to feel this great wash of relief and although I havent felt that (I was actually a little disappointed and felt done out of something!), the days do get easier.
We have been extremely lucky and have managed to satisfy the OR sufficiently that he doesnt require either a phone or face to face interview.
Like you, I spent many days, & days crying. I still suffer from anxiety, which I did before all this, so still have my hysterical moments, normally over silly things - (poor OH!),
The bit I was dreading (the OR) appears to have been much easier than all the nightmares I had conjured up in my mind. I wont lie, I get days when i think of us being in our early 40's; losing our house; having no savings; no children; me no job due to alot of health probs but as Donna put it so correctly, this is one area where we have to move forward and im finding taking a day at a time the best way - although its a cliche I hate!
We have learnt a very hard lesson, in a very hard way but I think it was the wake up call we both needed. At times it doesnt feel at all fair and we feel so sorry for ourselves and the mess OH and I have made of our lives but that just wastes even more of the precious time...
The people on this forum are so very kind and supportive and when Im down, i have a read, post a message or too and you realise that you are not alone. I find its the feeling that you are the only one going through it that makes me feel worse.
Im sure you've heard this before, but at least you have the sunshine in Oz. Things could be worse - you could be in N.Ireland, like us with blasted rain all the time. But then as Ive heard so many times, it wouldnt be so lovely and green here if we didnt have all the rain!!!!
Take care and I hope you start to see the glimmer of good days. I've found it hasnt come in a great wash of great relief that I thought I'd feel but even just not having an overdraft feels like a major thing to us. I really do wish you luck Lisa x
  • Ps. Everyone please excuse my long posts. I must start to learn to keep my messages shorter. Thanks for bearing with me. As you can prob tell, I dont get out much nor talk to people much as my family are all in England. OH not much of a talker so you guys pay for it....
    Apologies, Lisa x
  • Hi there

Hubby & I BR on the 29 Oct from oz. Now just really worried about the OR interview. Mainly feeling numb although seeing our names & address etc on IS website was a kick in the teeth.

    best wishes

Dont know if this is just avoidance tactics, but I have specifically NOT looked on any IS website to find myself or in the local papers etc. Its bit different in NI but I'd rather not see it 'officially'! Ive told the people I want to tell and the rest can think what they like.... Lisa x

  • Hi, just an update.

Hubby and I have both had contact from the OR office by e-mail and post. Surprised to find that we are being dealt with by different OR offices. We have each been asked to provide a little bit of additional info by e-mail, basically about the proceeds of our house sale in 2007 but have been told in our letters that neither of us will be interviewed at this time.

I have no idea whether any of that is good or bad or what to expect next and I'm still just as anxious about the whole thing.

    Have a good weekend all
