Proposals - How was yours?

I got proposed to in [STRIKE]19??[/STRIKE] - aeons ago .

Holding hands walking along a beach he suddenly said "I want you to be my life spelled with a 'W' and get the 'L' out of it" .

I was 17, I'd been out with him three times, said "Yes" immediately - got engaged on my 18th and married when I'd just turned 20.

We've never looked back - it's 30+ years on and would both do it again tomorrow.

Hey everyone - i know bit of a late addition to the last posts, but ben having problems on here uploading my posts! anyways, enjoyed reading through your engagement stories )

Me and my OH got engaged on 24th November this year, been together 4 years this coming march and lived together for almost 2yrs. we were on our holiday to disney paris (third time there.....we love it! lol)
first morning in the park, standing in a queue waiting to have a proffestional photo with mickey mouse. Ian kept mentioning that he was nervous and there lots people around.....me being me saying why you so nervous we met mickey mouse before....lol!!:o
we got to front of line, had the picture taken, then as the photographer gave ian the cards with numbers to get the pic from the shop ian asked if we could have another photo taken, the photographer looked a bit bemused as i must have too, then he turned around looked at me and had tears in his eyes and said how much he loved me and then went down on one knee!!! i was crying instantly - Mickey mouse was clapping and dancing around us and the queue clapped and cheered too, lol. he had the ring all ready and was perfect size!! had a hug from mickey and a couldnt have been more perfect for us - have a wonderful picture of the moment i said yes and mickey is in it! lol. :T

we had congratulations all for tthe rest of the holiday by people who recognised us )

Mine aint that romantic really, Christmas day morning in bed he just said I feel the luckiest man alive and I want to spend the rest of my life with you will you marry me? Of course I said yes but I didn't half look a mess in my Pj's and scruffy hair lol.

awww curlylou i had a tear in my eye how perfect and amazing, it was valentines day and i thought o he doesn't care for valentines day and we went for a walk about 4pm and i was feeling very upset by then that he had forgot when we sat down on the beach and he proposed it was lovely as the beach is my fav place in the world i was so happy and he cant forgot our engagement now can he lol

my proposal was in bed too lol - i said no lol afterwards we had a chat and i agreed - that was 5 years ago and we still arent married lol next year tho

aww Ive loved reading these, they are so nice!!

Mine was we went a run in the car to Eileen Donan castle and he proposed there...was really sweet!

Thats where we got married too.....although the castle was closed to the tourists there was a few floating about and they loved us!!!lol..well thats a lie they loved my husband because he was wearing his kilt!haha! They wanted their photo taken with him...he was lapping it up like some poser!haha!

Personal choice, but I would of been so embarrassed if he did it anywhere public... I'm not one for showing off and being the centre of attention. As it goes we were at a party with the circle friends who first introduced us, he didn't have a ring, but got down on one knee anyway. Then I got to go pick my own ring the next day which suited me down to the ground

It was exactly a week ago today! Christmas eve. :j
It was completely unexpected because the week before he'd had really bad flu and was only just starting to feel human. He suggested we go for a walk with the kids because he thought some air would do him good, I wasn't so keen and was ready to settle down for the evening with some xmas eve drinks and nibbles but he insisted. We drove to the lake were we take the kids to feed the ducks and swans, it was all frozen over and really pretty. He gives the kids some bread and they start feeding the ducks, suddenly I turn around and he's next to me on his knee looking up at me with an open box with a big rock in it. ''Louise will you marry me''!!!

I always thought that when he did it I'd cry like a baby but I was the complete oposit, I laughed like a lunitic. I've never been so happy

Heres Mine -

We have been together almost 8 years, so i have been waiting a while!! He lived abroad for work for 3 years in this time too.
Now my other-half always does things to the max, everything is a over the top, so birthdays/christmas ect and he loves to make a fuss, not expense wise but just different!
Because of this i am super suspicious of everything. This is why it was a total surprise. All my friends were guessing how crazy it would be. However i never thought it would be now!

I came home tuesday night and he was supposed to have picked up the chicken for dinner. He looked really sheepish and i said 'what have you done' (me being suspicious again). He said there is no chicken as i forgot.
So i go to get something else out for tea and he says 'no dont' and i say 'why'

He says because we are going out for dinner and again me being suspicious i ask why, thinking that he has broken something or done something stupid. He says because he is going away thursday (Which is true he is working in Cairo for three weeks). I say ok.
I then turn round and he is on one knee!!!!! I tell him to get up and stop messing around (as he is a joker).
Then he pulls out a box....and you know the rest!!!
I was in total shock and still am.. He said this was the only way he could ask me and it be a surprise as i suspect everything. Haha. That will teach me, then we went out for dinner. After i spent 20 minuites laughing!!!

I wondered why the frontroom had been hoovered and the yankee candle was on!! pmsl!

So thats it!!!
