Scruffy - how are you today?
Sugar - Are you okay? Saw your post yesterday about pumping, sorry it isn't going how you'd like. If you want any tips, I can find my list if you want?
Qualifications - 10 GCSEs, 2 B's, rest A or A*. Not bad considering I had only attended 30% of school! I did an apprenticeship in childcare. I was a gifted child, but given no extra work, so I got so bored and never learnt how to study, so I'm scared of failing, I've never revised, don't know how to. I have very poor attention span (apart from when I get an obsession, then I obsess!).
Bedtimes, LO goes down at about 9:30pm and only ever sleeps cuddled up to Mummy
Doc is phoning at 10am, couldn't face going to surgery.
Had big upset with OH last night, he is having today off work. Not sure what to do, part of me just wants to pack my bags and leave.
Pinkpig, what is LOs average weight gain? There is a huge range of normal for breastfed babies, personally I'd try not to worry if LO is gaining at a rate right for her. Is she having lots of wet and dirty nappies? Meeting milestones? Reasonably happy? I've always been told to not worry about slow gain, but I did panic when LO had a few slow weeks.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

LO is funny - likes her milk at home warm, but out and about will happily drink cold milk or room temp cartons of milk. Aren't they funny creaturesButtonmoons wrote: »
Got my new shoes on and suddenly every'thin is RIGHT!
Can't believe Keira has been in bed since 9, the house is creepily quiet, too quiet.

I changed the words of this song to RED shoes and sing it al lot when going out in my fabulous red shoes:j:rotfl:
well done Keira. :TButtonmoons wrote: »
What ya think? I love how I have no body, and the triangle on my head is apparently my hair tied back, lmao
that's so cuteIkea do really cheap brightly coloured frames that have plastic rather than glass. A friend who has a LO Keiras age has them all over one wall with her LO's drawings and paintings in them. It looks fabulous. I love that Keira thought so much about how to draw your hair.
r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Oh yes, milk - LO always had it cold, straight out of the fridge.
Love the picture, and very jealous of those who are good at DIY and decorating. My Dad still does all that for meStay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Tigs - yey for Andrews breathing! :T Are you prepared for having him home some time soon?
Buttons - Love the pic. Its so like you!
Feelie - Hugs.
My Maternity leave has officially ended.
This week i'm off for school holidays, then the next three weeks i'm on a/l. I have four weeks to decorate the living room, christmas shop & wrap and get my work clothes down from the loft!
I'd best get stripping - Big two can help me, it'll be fun to be allowed to rip the wallpaper.
ETA: Feelie - just spotted your last post. Can I borrow your dad? Mine's useless.:beer:0 -

Feel free to ignore me honey but I get the impression from some of your posts that OH is a bit controlling of you and tbh I do worry about it. I'm not sure if he is the best person for you to be around (obviously I could be waay off as I only know what you tell us here) Do you feel like you stay because leaving is too scary to think about coping with or because you want to? (if that makes sense)
I know there have been times when if I just had me to think about I may have waked awayI have no idea how I'd cope if I did just walk! I'm sure I would but it would involve me moving back in with my mum n dad and claiming lots of benefits/giving up my car/having to work fulltime/going insane at having to put up with my mum everyday again

Congrats on your lovely standing girl - but your hubby needs new jeans and I think you may have the same sofa as me!!
Why do men think jeans like that are 'fine'? It drives me insane - and I'm glad soemone agres with me! I'll pass on the commentIn his defence - those are his worst pair, on because of a small 'accident' LO had earlier in the day

Would you give something a bad review? I am trying to write my chocolate review and it is pretty scathing...do I tone it down?
Would appreciate SB's thoughts.
I think there is a difference between a bad review and an honest review. If it were me doing the review I would tell the truth but try and answer the questions they ask very specifically and use neutral terminology if at all possible - but it really depends on your gripe with the product I suppose. I definately wouldn't say I liked something if I didn't - but I couldn't imagine you doing that:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:;)Thank you Glam, I really appreciate those thoughts:A:D:beer:. Our local english-medium schools are failing and so the options seem to be:
Welsh school, where the 3 little girls on one side of us and the little boy and 2 girls on the other side of us are going/will go (depending on age) it's about 1.5 miles away and there's a daily bus.
Religious school, the Anglican (called church in Wales here) school is doing fairly well, but is full of the middle class kids whose parents don't want them to go to the 2 local primaries which are mainly muslim Arabic+Urdu speaking as a first language.
Private school, the one we'd probably choose is this one if anyone's interested.
The third option would probably be hardest, both financially:eek: and in terms of how we'd feel about justifying it to people. DH's family and some of our friends would probably struggle the most with it (or at least, do it audibly!).
I find this quite tricky because a lot of people do fund their child's education by paying more on their house price to live in a catchment area of a good school. In Cardiff this is currently a 100,000 house price difference. That's a lot of years of school fees! Plus you are paying huge amounts of interest when this is on a mortgage. And you are contributing to the profits of a bank, rather than helping to pay teacher's wages,
Somehow it won't be seen like that though!
I feel uncomfortable about playing the Welsh or religious cards in order to get Fergie into a better school. I don't want to 'use' God or the Welsh language as my adopted cause in order to meet my selfish aims. (Not that I am completely non-religious, but you know what I mean!)
weezl - I hadn't considered your thoughts about the English schools not being very good. In scotland the gaelic schools have much smaller class sizes and better funding and equpiment at their disposal. If we were to live close by then I'd be tempted if it weren't a gaelic medium school - I'd be more tempted if it were french speaking.
You make a good point about class mates too. That's definately a good one to consider.
If it were me I know I'd be considering the private school (even though I got bullied when I was younger for being 'posh'). I suppose it all depends on what you are getting for your money though. We have a similar issue with schools in our area, but for different reasons. The primary schools here are really excellent, but the high schools are not. Oh the things we have to think about these days!r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
