How much! Ok, maybe i'll do it myself! Its only six rolls, and really low ceilings so no ladders required! (Shows you how tiny my house really is!)
I'll tell OH i was wrong, and the teething will last about 3 years then! Does the teething get easier?, i mean, does it still affect Christopher now when he gets a new one?
I'm so rubbish - if you ladies didn't know me you'd be amazed to find out i've already done this twice before.the worst we had was him waking up twice a night for a week when he was around 20mths which I think was his 1st lot of molars, the last 4 he got were fangs and I didn't even realise until I spotted extras when brushing them
We went for the £220 guy - I don't think he did any better than hubby would have done and it took 1.5 days, he also painted the ceiling and glossed skirting etc we have massively high ceilings (he had to go get his 'big' ladder coz his usual ones weren't big enough)0 -
Just in case anyone is interested as we were talking about delaying starting school for "young 'uns" a while back http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/8314152.stm0

 I got a virus on the computer last night so spent all yesterday evening and all this morning getting rid of it. Have popped online now for my MSE fix and then I'm going to run another check just to totally absolutely completely sure that it really is gone so probably won't be back on for a while as it takes ages to scan everything. While I've been on the computer, Alice has been mainly colouring. I think she must have a secret challenge to try to use up a whole set of coloured pencils in one day as I've had to sharpen some of them more than once.Getting a bit worried about James. Don't know if people remember but a girl in the year above him who he was friends with died last October of an asthma attack. It was a shock and it really upset him, especially as we lost my Gran suddenly last September.
School keeps doing all this stuff that brings up memories of the girl. I was in school in the summer term waiting to speak to the head who was doing assembly, so I was sitting outside the hall. The netball team had won some trophy and all the girls had medals. Rather than focus on the girls winning, the head focussed on the fact that the girl played on the team and it was her spirit that helped the girls win, and they should always remember her through the medals. That set all the bairns off crying and they all came out sobbing.
...
Has anyone got any ideas on how to help him cope with it all? He just gets so upset by all the services and seeing all his friends crying and I don't know how to handle it.redmel1621 wrote: »Okay, okay...I'm Pregnant!!3 - we had the same thing with LO trying to climb out - while still wearing her sleeping bag :rotfl:3, I said "I wish it could be me", but it won't be
I'm still gutted about having a C-section.feelinggood wrote: »Talking of involved Daddies, OH has done no nappies, no dressing, no settling, no pushing the pram, no medicine, one bottle, no bathing. He just doesn't enjoy that stuff. He does enjoy through LO in the air, making him fly, walking him around the house, and playing with the rabbit. The more I push him to do something, the less he does it, so I just let him do what he chooses.redmel1621 wrote: »No I didn't trick him...I just simply said he is in charge of contraception....so we were using condoms and it was up to him to get them/use them etc and on a few occasions he couldn't be arsed....esp as they are in his bedside cabinet and if we weren't in the bedroom iykwim then he didn't bother!MadDogWoman wrote: »Just had the 3 rings to say DH on his way home from work :j Got spag bol on the stove.Hope others had better sleepI meant to say yesterday Weezl that the HR shenanigans are very suspenseful but it sounds like excellent news and we are holding our collective breath waiting for written confirmation! I can only imagine how much of a difference it will make
Susan thanks for posting the budget I really apreciate it. If I have further questions I think I'll post them on here cos I figure budgetting and babies is pretty much bang on topic for this forum, and others may appreciate the info too. Also: I bought a set of two old pillow cases at a boot sale, white background with a thin and thick pale minty green stripe running vertically through it. I shall keep one in case we are team pink, but would you like the other one for a pillow slip dress for Alice? The fairies will be happy to oblige...

Just spoken to the comms nurse. I raised a few issues with another nurse yesterday so our usual one has got back to me now. The issue of formula is still outstanding (); the MRI results have apparently been sent by letter (so no idea how long they'll take to turn up!); but the latest blood results are good and we don't have to go back for two weeks (so a week on Monday)
They raised the issue of Rhys' low weight gain as a problem last week so I've been fretting about it ever since, yet won't give him the calorie packed formula to increase it but still frown when he's not gaining weight quickly. Feels like they've told me it's a problem but won't give me the solution so I'm just left to worry about itAm feeding him as much as he'll take but obviously it's not enough calorie wise - common problem at this stage for prem babies, apparently. Three and a bit weeks to go until we can start weaning.. I have a feeling we'll be left floundering until then and they'll rely on food to boost him

Hope you get the mri results soon elle, I know waiting for something is so frustrating, and I'm sure they'll be fine!
When is it you are going to start giving him some food? I can't remember if you said you were waiting until he was 6months old (if he had been born at 40weeks) Really bad at working dates out even though it's in your sig!
See with OH he helped out loads when Keira was a baby, and tbh I really wouldn't of put up with not changing a single nappy, giving them a bath now and then etc. My dad was exactly like that, took 6 weeks off work when my sister was born and did a night feed once. Yeah great!
I am sure that cat has peed in my bedroom but not sure, it could be the febreeze I keep spraying in it as it does have a weird tang too it. ARRRGH
Went to Jimmy chungs yesterday with my mum,dad 2 sisters and Keira for lunch then took Keira to the carnivals and she wanted to go on the electric motorbikes, I thought she'd not be able to do it but she did! Only crashed once when she was getting used too it, and then was great at it, I thought she was scared but it was just sheer concentration on steering herself. Bless her.
We just came back from lidl and I was putting on her coat and she said "Oh cats can't come to the shop because they don't have any arms so can't hold you hand" I love the stuff she comes out with.0 -

We're weaning when he is actually six months, which is coincidentially when he should be 17 weeks, the earliest 'they' say you can wean with less (or no, I'm not sure) damage to kidneys (don't want to put them under moe strain!). We're away that week so must remember a box of baby rice for the suitcase! :rolleyes:We just came back from lidl and I was putting on her coat and she said "Oh cats can't come to the shop because they don't have any arms so can't hold you hand" I love the stuff she comes out with.

afternoon all!!
Skinty- ((((hugs)))) hope you are feeling a bit better today.
when i was stressing in the hospital about the breast feeding, the mw said that sometimes you have to take a step back and think about what is best for the baby. you may not like the idea of expressing, but if it helps lilia and her daddy then surely it must be worth a try. even if its one feed a day it will all help.
routines- the only one i have is in the morning. once Kian is fed and settled i do any dishes, wash the bottles, sterilise them and fill them with the water. and then watch This morning.... or come on here. rest of my day is dictated by whatever Kian does till night time. We let him fall asleep on us at night time when he has his bottle and then move him upstairs bout 10pm. then do all his feeds/changes upstairs in the darkened room so he gets used to night/day differences.
mel- congrats!!
c-sect- the mw when she was discharging me said 'try not to get pg within the year, but accidents do happen....' DH is already on about having another but i am sticking to this min of 1 year before trying again.
Kian has got a bit of a cough. he has got a mild dose of what me and DH have had. feel so sorry for him with his little cough. thankfully its not coughing all the time and is only when he's awake. still has a stuffy nose.. is there anything i can get to help him breath a little easier as anything i saw in asda was min of 3 months old to use??'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

jillie you can use saline drops in his nose to help clear it or some vicks in a hot bowl of water near him but not on him obv, but apart from that just lots of fluids and cuddles. i can remember anything else, i'll let you know. hope he's better soon.0
