"Oh well it's probably not Strep B" Wasn't until I got home and looked up what that was that I knew what they were talking about! That can kill babies and if she HAD had that, and them loosing the swabs twice? Incompetent.

Oh buttons! so sorry your birth was handled so badly. I'm cross with their incompetance .

As for going private.... good idea, but also a MSE alternative might be a home birth with your own doula/independant midwife, if you were concerned about getting a dodgy one. Doulas can be 250-300 pounds, but private obstetric care can be £10000!

Or perhaps an MSEer with an interest could pop up and be your doula?:rotfl:

    I vote sami :)

Weezl your PM inbox is full so I'll just add here what I was going to say and if you could reply by PM that would be great.

    To Auntie Weezl,

Baby Reece and other babies that have received fairy parcels would like to send you a thank you for their cubes via the nasty ogres that have gone on strike. However after trying to get some directions from other mummies for the fairy post we've failed to get them. (In adult speak: Can I have your address please)

    Thank you
    MSE babies

Awww claire :o It's really kind.

My gut feel is to be stubborn :p and refuse to give it cos I've recieved lovely helpful things from the fairies, and I'm just paying it forward, I'm honestly not just saying that. :)

So I'll PM it to you because you've asked, but I genuinely am just happy to know that they gave some mummies and babies some smiles. So you can feel very free to just ignore my address and just look on it as one of the perks of being on MSE!:money:

...and speaking of life being kind to us here....

Just had a phone call from HR who have unearthed yet another loophole, which makes the money come without the line manager having to agree to kit days!

Really trepidous about believing it, til I get written confirmation, but another quiet :j:j:j from me.

I love HR departments! I love everyone who works in HR (you listening elle?;))

    xxx

Is that 10k I see Weezl :( Ouch!! Mind you OH has private health insurance through his work, and I'm not currently under it but Keira is, because we aren't married, so maybe we can elope to gretna green for £50 and then I can use that (That's if it ever happened!)

Yeah was really bad, and I reacted badly to the morphine, I can't handle drugs at all, anything stronger than a neurofen makes me feel sick.

I got dehydracodeine(sp) earlier this year for my back when I got a tumour removed and they told me to take 2 every X amount of hours for the pain, I took ONE and spent the whole night in the toilet vomiting, don't think that was helpful to the stitches.

How's lil fergie doing? His poopeys any better?

:kisses3: I'm hoping my sister will want me there when the time comes for her :D
I like the idea of being a doula (as my job) but I'm not sure how practical it would be for us with OH being away with work often and our parents all still working fulltime and having 2 children :(

    Thanks AM! x

I think you'd be great at it. Very practical and sensible and non-panicky, but able to offer all of that in a very kind and gentle package.

    A rare combination. :)

See what you're saying about chilcare though. Guess the labouring woman might not want Christopher and Ed present! :rotfl:

deffo get married for the health insurance :D how far is gretna from you :rotfl:

Fergie is well, recovering from a cold so waking himself up with coughing. Mummy has been silly though and thought that if I bought cough mixture online and clicked 'collect in store' option, that I could get it straight away (it's a massive boots which has loads of boots own cough syrup). But I bought it on tues and can't have it til Fri! That's a long time in the world of babies!

Poo-wise, we're getting there, double dose of lactulose is meaning a poo every 2-3 days and loads less impacted :)

Give a kiss to pretty Kiera from me :)
