However since he had a runny bottom (not even going to try to spell it!) a few weeks ago number 2's are a complete nightmare!! Even if he wearing a nappy he screams the house down. Everytime he farts (a lot cos he's holding it all in!) he says stinker which makes us laugh but when we put him on the toilet/potty for a no. 2 he sobs and calls out to us. It breaks my heart & makes me cry to hear him and he does it whether i'm sitting with him or not. I don't know what to do for him, any ideas or suggestions most welcome!!

Awww poor little chap :( If he puts his arms up high it'll lengthen his colon and should help the evacuation go more smoothly...

    poor Chris!

I'm trying to potty train Charlie and he's really good as long as he's not really distracted by his toys, tv etc! Says wow when he's done a wee on the potty, and oh no wet if he didn't make it, so cute! Although he's lazy and will wet himself rather than try to take his pants down by himself. But if he's got nothing on he'll hold it until he sits on the potty.

So close to saying stuff it all, put him back in nappies and hopefully he'll work it out by himself before he goes to school!

I picked up my NVQ level 3 certificate in childcare, learning and development and yet I can't seem to help Charlie, makes me feel so useless!
I call it dia-woo-woo :) remember Charlie is 8mths younger than Chris so I wouldn't worry too much if he's not getting it yet. 2they2 do say if its not working after a week then give up for a bit tho...

Looking at the time elapsed between your two poats sami I'm thinking you're gonna have to sit him on every 4 mins!

Maybe he could just sit on it all day with a good book?

    Sounds like my DH :rotfl:
:rotfl:I don't get it, he took his nappy off, sat on potty, said oh it's gone, asked for underpants on, I put them on, asked u lot timings then he appeared at my feet saying I weed on my pants :p

Elle do you know anything about the right to return to my old position? I've been [STRIKE]asked if I mind[/STRIKE] told i'm going to a different team when I go back. I did say I dont mind (verbally) as i'm hopefully not going back for long. But since then, anyone from work i've seen, who've mentioned where i'm going back to have frowned/shook heads/looked horrified/looked sympathetically at me.
Someone from work has said that I have the right to return to my old team/job but she can't find it in writing.

I've got a very unhappy baby! She's crying, with tears - and she never cries!
I'm guessing its her teeth, one has poked through, but there is another lump next to it, and lumps up above.
Shes got red cheeks, snotty nose and smelly bum too.
She's just had a A&P administered by spoon (Thanks Mooki! :D) (And how stupid are the rest of us! :o).

Do we all know that it helps to assume the same position a doggy would?

  • Charlie seems really good going for a wee but I suppose he's just got the attention span of a gnat! Will have to really encourage him in pulling his own pants up/down. He did start to do it pulling them up at the front with is bum hanging out! Was very funny though

I think that's the loophole... they can't pay me in lieu of leave (not their policy) to tip me over SMP threshold, but they can start me back on payrol on 26th october, pay me during my leave as per usual and then start my Maternity leave a bit earlier.

    Seems good. :)

Is that what you were thinking too? Great minds think alike!

Not entirely sure what I was thinking, to be honest! :o It just struck me that you probably had holidays / holiday pay outstanding. I'm very lucky, my employer will pay mine up - I've already have half of it, the days I'd booked to use before leaving but didn't because Rhys came early :)

You have the right to return to a role no worse than your old one - no worse in terms of working conditions, pay, status etc - because you are going back during "additional maternity leave" which is the second six months. If you'd gone back during or at the end of "ordinary maternity leave" which is the first six months, you'd be entitled to the very same job back. HTH x

I've just wondered would powders still work if dissolved in a little water and given by syringe? or for those that use dummies could you dip a soggy dummie in them?? (that's prob frowned upon tho)

was thinking of getting a 'fun' kitchen timer to remind[strike] me[/strike] Chris to potty, what do we think?
