can i ask another question about cots?????

    do you have/use a dropside???

we looked at some in mothercare/argos and they have drop sides, but we also looked in ikea (found one about 40 mins away MFD - and hubby took me (major crawling on his part)) and they dont have drop sides.

i automatically think i need one iwth a drop side as i 99.9% of the time put LO to bed when she is alseep but i am also worried as she is a light sleeper if the drop side (putting it back up into position) will wake her.

Sugar - thanks for the suggestion I was really stuck, I'll hit the shops tomorrow.
Loving the idea of ants on logs.

AF - DD was in a dropside as otherwise it would have meant letting dd fall onto the mattress as I wasn't tall enough to reach over and down once the mattress was on it's lowest setting.

I, erm, haven't been to loads of them :o but I have tried to do a social/mum and baby group every day and that's been successful :)

Today I've been feeling pretty rubbish. HR came up with a possible way forward about the money and the line manager has been stalling and stalling.

I wrote today and said that I was concerned that the stress over the last month was having an adverse effect on my health during pregnancy, and that I needed to know when she would be able to let me know where I stand in relation to my work and my next years income.

She left it a day and then sent a one-liner saying she was sorry I was feeling unwell. But still no timeframes or action :(

Still, work is just a little part of life, right? Fergie tried a marshmallow today :) I know they have sugar, but I was making rocky road and he lunged for one! His face was lovely, a mixture of delight at the taste and bewilderment at the texture :rotfl:

Thanks for asking em, How you doing lovely?
glad you're getting to do some of your groups, are you finding it easier on you with fergie a little more entertained by whats going on around him?

your boss sucks! surely technically HR are above her so she should be doing what they say? is there no way you can lodge a complaint somewhere about her? i know you probably dont want to rock the boat too much but its a lot of money to lose!

a little bit of sugar never hurt anyone ;) when we went to see my auntie in kent we put him in his walker while we were eating, and he went round from person to person getting mouthfuls of custard and sticky toffee sponge pudding :shh: it was funny watching him toddle around with his mouth open trying to get at everyones spoons!

we are plodding along as normal here in seth towers :) i'm so bored of staying in but the weathers so rubbish i really cant be bothered to make the effort to go out at the moment!
I am stuffed. The childminder that I had my hopes pinned on has now told me that she won't work after 5pm :( I am gutted, there is no way we can get home for 5pm - to be fair, how many people in 'normal' jobs can??

So I need to call round again tomorrow. I am pinning my hopes in Kismet and that there is a better CM waiting for my call - pray for me ladies :(

    ((HUGS)) to all

    MFD xx
have you tried going through the NCMA? when i went through the government link i found that most of them were ones that have registered themselves as childminders so they can look after their own children and get paid to look after one or two more, but the NCMA are more picky about who can join their network and only allow "proper" ones in. i managed to cut out a lot of the filler ones going through them!
ETA - i emailed someone from the NCMA, and found their email address on my local council website cos the search on the NCMA website leads to the government one

ETA again - i knew i forgot something! fab news tigs :D

Chris eats most things cold anyway *weird child* I've forgotten what sugar suggested but pasta, cous cous, noodles and rice are all good cold, jelly for dessert

AF what is it about a dropside that you are interested in, in comparison to a normal one? we dont have a dropside and the only time i wish we did is when i'm feeding him over the side of the cot in the night and i have arm ache!!

AF, we never used the drop side for Chris cos his big brother wrecked it. Go to mothercare and see if you can manage with or without it. Think the ikea cheapie has a 3 position mattress though so you can have it on high till she is big enough to not be bothered if you drop her down.
