Em - there aren't really that many childminders around here. I am looking a little further afield at minders who are on my way to work.

AF - thank you for reminding me about the cot. We don't have a drop side. I thought we did but I had forgotten that I opted for a cheaper cot when I opted for the more expensive buggy

Anyway, Benjamin is now pulling himself up to kneeling at the bars!! At first it was just to look at me whilst I was in the shower (just like his dad - will go to any lengths to get a glimpse of t!ts and a$$ :rotfl:)

you must remind him of this when he is older :D

But for the last 2 nights when I have put him down (awake) I have gone up later to find him kneeling up with a big proud smile on his mush

    Do I:
    a) Drop the cot mattress now?
    b) Wait a while because he is not (yet) showing any signs of standing (and it would probably be quite a tricky manouever in a sleeping bag)?
    c) Only put the baby to sleep when he is already asleep for a while?

Can somebody keep my bl00dy babba still for a while!! :D

so you have gotten on fine without the drop side then? i am thinking as LO holds onto the bars and lifts herself up, i would start at the second level?

i would drop the mattress i think just to be sure, but then i understand what you are saying about being the sleeping bag.
  • overall i think aptimil is a more superior milk and cow/gate and sma are equally the same.

its whether you can afford aptilmil or not. or whether the marketing is cleverer?

hipp organic and heinz are supposed to be as good too.

a parenting nightmare, the first hurdle for non b/f mummies.

Any recommendations (or otherwise) for a car seat rain cover? :) I think we're going to need one for when I take Rhys to appointments and we don't have the choice whether we go out in the rain or not :(

it was something that has since been removed because they got sued IIRC

nothing against sma, its just my impression of the packaging. I was on sma after BFing - no idea how long mum BFed me hough...

MFD, drop it now. Trust me on this. He will decide to stand when you least expect it and take a tumble out and you'll end up running up to A&E in a huge panic while us mums who have been there done that will be like, yeah, that happened to us too, they were fine... :D

I used SMA gold with Keira as that's what they had in the hospital and I had seen ads on the TV about it haha, I'm sure there was other choices too. It was all those pre made milks in glass jars.

Funny thing is, when I was in hospital no-one even asked if I was BF, I might of actually tried if someone had given me a push and shown me, not like my mum agreed with it, said If I breastfed I better not do it in the living room (can you see why I got depression livin there?) OH was upset I didn't BF but didn't make a huge deal out of it, and I caught staph, not sure if that would of passed onto Keira through BF anyways? I wouldnt of been able to keep it up because they wouldnt let me take her into hospital when I was admitted for 5days anyways
