We took him out for lunch afterwards at the cafe in our local park, and I was just enjoying a post lunch coffee with baby on the breast, when a bona fide nutter burst in with a large alsation dog, stripped to the waist, and started shouting, waving a knife around and lurching round the room. At one point, he was standing right over me, and I was desperately hoping Edward wouldn't cry and trying not to catch his eye, and hoping OH wouldn't try to intervene and escalate things. Eventually he left, stripped off completely naked and jumped into the duck pond in front of all the mums and toddlers there to feed the ducks! By the time we left there were at least 50 police officers, an ambulance and an inflatable boat all there to try and get him out of the pond, and presumably cart him off under the Mental Health Act. It certainly put paid to our idea of a nice Autumn walk through the park after lunch... Living in London is exciting sometimes!!

Sami hello! You asked how all the groups were going... Generally well, but the tuesday one will be a labour of love. Fergie can't sleep at it, cos his pram isn't allowed in the room and there are 6 bright fluorescent strip lights above him, so he was a bit thrown.

I found the ladies really nice, but my lack of arabic and head covering made me stick out a bit.

It also made me reflect how even positive comments which draw attention to race can feel a bit excluding. There was a few 'oh so lovely and pale!' type comments about fergus. It was nice to get compliments. But I felt our differences a lot :o.

Are you all better from your colds now at chez sami?
Glad its going well! Is it just me or do you find it a bit weird that they say lovely and pale? I'm thinking either they assume his dad is maybe dark skinned or they aspire to be pale?

Chris is much better, just the odd cough but he's not as whingy now (thank god! I can't stand whingy whiney kids :o)
Ed escaped so far so fingers crossed he doesn't get it while we're in the freezing windy whiles of the lakes!

I've had a whoopsie :o trimmed my fridge a bit too short! Feel free to laugh at me when I get back with the holiday photos! :D

Right really must switch off now.

Toodles lovelies, will try to get on later/in the morning x

I'm not succeeding in keeping up with you girls at all :rotfl:

Have only managed to read the last few posts but looks like Glam needs big hugs!

Midwife came this morning and young Edward has put on 100g since Sunday so finally starting to move in the right direction. He's still 200g under his birth weight though, so still not discharged from CMW and she's coming back next week to reweigh. Feeling better though that there is evidence that he is taking in enough milk, so at least no pressure at the moment from anyone other than inlaws to switch him onto formula.

We took him out for lunch afterwards at the cafe in our local park, and I was just enjoying a post lunch coffee with baby on the breast, when a bona fide nutter burst in with a large alsation dog, stripped to the waist, and started shouting, waving a knife around and lurching round the room. Sorry to intrude in your thread Ive been browsing for a while. I apologise if I speak out of turn Glam but your MIL saying that is out of order but then again he should know that you cant do it all on your own. He sounds like he was/is a mummys boy, its about time he stood up to the challenge and told his mum and helped you out without him wanting a standing ovation everytime he does something. Or maybe he is finding it a lot harder to adjust to Jack etc and doesnt know what to do etc :o

To be fair to MIL she was kind of saying how hard she found it having to do everything so I think she might have been trying to get OH to help out. Will be seeing them soon so I'm sure a few words about how I'm struggling will get them to give OH a very subtle kick up the backside!

I think I'll sit him down & maybe go thru a list of things that need doing & split it up so say he does a feed or 2 during the day and I'll make lunch & tea. His only real job is loading and unloading the dishwasher cos he wanted it but never does it!

While I typed that he rang - so I suggested make a list of jobs and trying to get into a routine like get up at a reasonable time! Have breakfast, have a quick tidy round and do any housework that needs doing, then do any job hunting, application forms, ebay etc, do his weights while I read, watch TV or chill out with Jack in the afternoon and then try and have tea and have some us time in the evening. I have also said we should share the feeds during the day (I dont mind doign the nights) so that he gets some Jack and Daddy time.

Thanks girls and Bruno for the support and advice.

Nicki - Glad Edward is doing so well, do you call him Ed for short or is he just Edward?
    What a scary episode!

Jack is asleep for now so going to catch up on washing and tidying so that when we start the list there is no backlog!

Well just found out the owners of the flat don't even have permission to rent the flat out, things are going to the solicitors now and will go to court if the owner can't be tracked down first.

Lets hope they can get them out of there pronto!
I had horrible neighbours once (nothing like what u describe, just generally noisy at stupide hours of the night) - we called round with the neighbours from the other side to introduce ourselves and kind of discreetly let them know that they had a squeaky bed & the walls were thin. :o We didn't even get a hello and they shut the door before we could even say 'Hi, we are from next door'

After they left, we got noisy dogs so when they left I collared the landlady for her number in case we had any more problems. Then we moved out!

At least he changes wet ones - OH has done 1 and that was cos I was out and Jack was crying. I said to him yesterday 'You've onyl changed one' and he had the check to lie to my face and say 'Nah, I've done loads' (I think I would know!)

He's a sod for holding him and saying 'I think his nappies a bit full' (I'm a bad mummy and sometimes forget to change him :o) From now on, he will get 'Oh, can you change it then please?' :D

I think the more he does, the more Jack will respond to him - that way he won't moan when Jack cries for him and stops for me ;)
