emlou - that's great news that you've found a childminder you're happy with.

Speaking of animals, does anyone have any tips for ensuring your child is not scared of animals even if you don't have any yourself? Alice is absolutely crazy about animals from a distance but is a bit nervous when they get close to her.

caz, if you want a super quick pud try this, its a particular favourite of OH's:

    golden syrup microwave sponge
    50g butter/marg
    50g flour
    50g sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp vanilla
    splash of milk
    1 tbsp golden syrup

put the golden syrup in the bottom of a microwave dish and swill it around a bit
mix everything except the milk together
add a splash of milk to make it a little more pourable and pour on top of the golden syrup, should look like normal cake batter
    micro for 3-4 mins
    mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ;)
comes out the consistency of a proper steamed pudding!

nice one. at least its not 5 days a week.

a lot of the childminders round us live too far away for me to drop off/collect as i dont drive and they all seem to want you to collect by 6 at the latest. we only finish work at 6 so not much use to us. there is a nursery within few minutes walk which is open till 6.30. i have checked with mil/fil and they have said they will pick Kian up when necessary (providing we can get him a place there) although if i change branch to a more local one i can do this as all local shops close at 5.30. i keep putting it off but i guess i need to make the calls and see what vacancies etc are like.

i found that with the hours thing though jillie, this one says she is 8am-6pm but she said a few extra minutes wouldnt bother her at all, cos her daily rate is £35 but that is for 8am-6pm, and cos i dont start work til 9.30 and so wont need to drop seth off til about 9am she doesnt mind me getting a few extra minutes at the other end of the day for my moneys worth :)

can you not look for one closer to your work than your home?

    Hi all..

Oh, I feel better for having been out to see friends this afternoon - and, yes, it was OH who told them to take me out rather than them come round here :o I was going to walk along the prom (remember, this is Cleethorpes I'm talking about, nothing swanky about it!) afterwards but it was freezing when we came out of the cafe and Rhys wasn't in his warmest coat so I'll wait until the leopard print snowsuit arrives for that one! :D

*hugs* for Glam, Caz, Weezl (and Mr Weezl's singing voice) and Keeley xx

Susan, Alice is so sweet and those pictures are lovely! Someone's a good photographer :)

    :j for Em and Seth

    :bdaycake: for Mel :D xx

Have handed the wee dinky one over to Daddy and I'm off duty for the next 15hrs or so (apart from the expressing, of course)! :D Hmm.. think I'll do some tidying up! :o Have hurt myself lifting Rhys' car seat, or rather twisting with it funny as I lifted him out the car, and my section scar is hurting (random!) so not going to do anything too strenous for a while :(

It's more the wonder of digital photgraphy than skill - you can take a million photos without having to worry about duds costing a fortune and then you can crop and zoom to make them look better.

    Hope you feel better soon.
