lady we were given a toothbrush and special toothpaste in our bookstart bag. We have to use (or are recommended to) a toothpaste which is either high or low in flouride. I can't off hand remember which and LO's is in her bedroom in which is is currently asleep! Anyway - it's to do with the water in this area. Might be worth asking your own dentist what they recommend.
I've been giving Annabel the toothbrush to chew on when she gets out of the bath and I'm drying her/dressing her. I'm not worrying about cleaning them as such - more that it gets built into our routine now so its easier when cleaning is really important IYKWIM.
ETA - we also have a finger toothbrush that slips over my finger and is very soft and lets me 'rub' her teeth. She just chews on my finger that way though. It's more targetted than a normal brush.
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this responser.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!

Here we are told to use adult toothpaste because the water here is NOT fluorinated. (if your local water is fluorinated then you should stick to baby T-paste that has less fluoride in it)lady we were given a toothbrush and special toothpaste in our bookstart bag. I personally use 'baby' toothpaste for Chris for the following 2 reasons;
* Fluoride is a toxic substance (lethal in high enough quantities) - Chris still swallows most of the toothpaste while brushing so I use the baby stuff to minimize how much he is ingesting.
*baby toothpaste has a gentle flavour, Chris finds adult toothpaste too strong as it sort of burns.
Did you get the 6mth bounty bag? mine had a free toothbrush in it (2yrs ago)
ETA: I didn't actually brush Chris's teeth until he had 4 and didn't use paste until he had 8. pre-brush using I would just give them a polish with a muslin wrapped finger

hi everyone,
I've started weaning my fat little monster, he had apple and porridge for breakfast and vegetables for dinner and scoffed the lot! He went to bed as usual by 8pm and I didn't hear a peek until 6am and then he must have rolled over and gone back to sleep until 7.15am!!!! :j:p:j:p:j
Shame Charlie decided to wake up a couple of times in the night and have a crying moment but I mostly left him to re-settle himself. He seems to be getting back into a routine of waking crying out until I come in and then he drops straight back off so I've decided to ignore him :rolleyes:
Was so much more I was going to say but can't remember!!:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009

Weetabix and readybrek is fine, if it's a bit tasteless, then put some pureed fruit in it, but I always gave Aston it plain cos i'm a tight wad!ladybirdintheuk wrote: »Morning all. I hope you all had some sleep!
We were up for an hour an a half in the night, which was a bit of a struggle after finally getting used to her sleeping though, but never mind.
No work today ... well... lots of work, just no-one is paying me to do it, but my question of the morning (see, I get you lot working too
) before i go to the supermarket - I'm spending a fortune on baby breakfast cerials. This baby eats nearly as big a bowl of breakfast cerial as I do! Are there any grown-up cerials that don't have sugar/salt added that I could try her on? I will go do a label-inspection at Mr T later, but I thought asking you lot might be quicker, seeing as between us we all know everything now we are Mums

Ladyb - I think I got the voucher in the post for the bag - memory foggy of so long ago0 -
Ooh got to go, got an appointment down the school with the doc and senco for Aston, will be bck on later.
Also one of the pups in the litter we are getting has had a prob with her back legs and died, i'm a bit dubious now as to what to do....i'm sure the breeder wouldnt sell us the dog if she wasnt ok, the pup that died was actually the one she was going to keep.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0
