  • Jack is at the dribble in the pants stage before he thinks about a wee, i'm trying to not remind him and let him learn about a full bladder. He's getting there, but i'm changing his pants several times a day, but that's fine as long as its not too long.
Aimee's still at this stage... She's 5 1/2 now...
Anyone mind if I vent without reading back?

Had Ello weighed today, she’s put on 11oz in 3 weeks which is fab for her but unfortunately she is still under the 0.4 centile so they were umming and ahhing about referring her to the faltering growth team.

Everytime I go we see a different HV and I am threatened with this, so I had a bit of a wobbly and told them I don’t care what they do as long as they make a decision, so the HV is going to ring the Faltering Growth Team and see if they want to see her,

I’m glad that a decision is going to be made instead of the HV’s having a pop at me everytime we go but tbh its making me feel like a real failure, I’m Bfing her and making all her food myself so I feel like I must be doing something wrong.

She’s doing everything she should be at this stage, sitting up on her own, babbling picking things up etc, the HV said there’s nothing wrong with her development and I (and everyone else who knows her IRL) am sure she’s just small so why has all this made me feel crap?
Everyone has replied so much more eloquently than me... You're doing a good job!!

Just browsing the offers at Mothercare and they have a disposable breastpump! They also have lovely Grandma and Grandad mugs but we did Grandma and Grandad mugs last year so a bit soon for us to do it again but maybe useful for someone else.
It's more the pot system that's disposable than the actual pump...

That's all I have time for... Bloomin' swimming night!

Amber was born on the 25th percentile and is now following the 9th so all I get is 'feed her, feed her, feed her'.

Chris followed the 9-25th but would drop way down when he was ill, which was quite often. They wanted to refer him to a dietician, but I refused. He lost weigh because he was ill not because of his diet. Ell, he was having high fat added to his diet when weaning, cream, butter, cheese, scrambled eggs with mostly egg yolk etc. It lasted as long as I was making him separate foods and gradually he was eating what we were. He is still very skinny and tall.

Hugs Em, that's so sad! :(

Thanks Tia.. Guess I'd better learn how to make meringue! ;) I'm tall and slim too, always have been, so maybe he's just going to turn out like me in the long run.

Right off to pick up said wee dinky one.. Wish me luck for peeling him out of Grandma's arms! ;) I'm taking walnut cake to thank / bribe her!

Elle - I read something in one of my MIL's mags - think it could of being Womans Own. There was a piece about a what a mother has to feed her prem baby, she had to add cream and cheese to mash, things like Milky bar yoghurt things for snacks, pork chops for dinner. I can't remember it in detail but it was all mega high calorie and fat to help build the stores that are normally made in the last stages of pregnancy. The mother said she felt really gulity about giving the LO junk, etc but it would change as she grew.

Emlou - that is terrible about the puppy, how awful hugs xx

:( It has just taken me an hour to get Benjamin down for his half three nap :(

The calm mother in me kept saying 'just let him stay awake if he is being a b00ger about it' but the [STRIKE]sensible[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]control freak[/STRIKE] other side of me had to keep on trying.
Now he is asleep in our bed, albeit surrounded by pillows but I keep hearing 'awake-type noises' over the monitor so I have been up 3 times in the last 10 mintues

    Sorry to snip loads out!

I have a RL friend whose daughter is under the 0.4th still at 15 months. She is tiny, her hubby is tiny and surprise surprise, so is their daughter....I told her to stop going to clinic ;)

If you think Ello is happy and healthy then stuff the books IMHO.

((HUGS)) you are doing really well - tell em to take a running jump.

Don't know if you saw the other day but they've suggested weaning him early (more in case he needs longer to get it than to boost his weight) and there was talk of butter, cream and cheese in his mashed potato to fatten him up a bit - not sure how safe/normal that it though!

I think it is normal to add butter, cream and cheese to baby mash - their tummys are only tiny so they need the extra fats to help them gain weight.

Speaking of which I need to make Benjamins dinner or he will be going hungry tonight!

Edit - em, how sad about the puppy :(
