Risotto rice would work better than long grain but is more expensive. (I actually use pudding rice for risottos.)Hands up anyone who knows whether Sainsbury's Locals stock pudding rice? Anyone? Or failing that, whether rice pudding with long-grain rice will be awful?Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

:grouphug: Are they looking at her growth curve or just her actual weight? All three of my friend's babies were below the line but it was only the third one that actually caused concern because the first two did have their own little growth curve (just outside of the typical range) whereas the third wasn't actually gaining. If you think about it, 0.4% of babies (or four in a thousand) should be below the line. Have they looked at her length or just her weight? Are the rest of the family small (or small when they were little)? If there is no problem then at least seeing the growth team means that you will be reassured and able to answer to the HVs that she is okay.Millie's_Mum wrote: »Anyone mind if I vent without reading back?
Had Ello weighed today, she’s put on 11oz in 3 weeks which is fab for her but unfortunately she is still under the 0.4 centile so they were umming and ahhing about referring her to the faltering growth team.
Everytime I go we see a different HV and I am threatened with this, so I had a bit of a wobbly and told them I don’t care what they do as long as they make a decision, so the HV is going to ring the Faltering Growth Team and see if they want to see her,
I’m glad that a decision is going to be made instead of the HV’s having a pop at me everytime we go but tbh its making me feel like a real failure, I’m Bfing her and making all her food myself so I feel like I must be doing something wrong.
She’s doing everything she should be at this stage, sitting up on her own, babbling picking things up etc, the HV said there’s nothing wrong with her development and I (and everyone else who knows her IRL) am sure she’s just small so why has all this made me feel crap?
When I was a baby I had to be monitored by the consultant at the hospital because I was really short (on the 3rd centile) and my parents aren't (and we have realtives who had height issues) but I ended up being 5'8".Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Hello All
Have been lurking and following you all, am V tired at the mo and sick _pale_ so haven't really had much to say.
On a plus note as promised DH is taking me to see the fireworks in Blackpool on Friday night
, my local council is putting on a Food Festival on Saturday so I will be venturing out to look at what food I can eat! Then on Sunday we have tickets for a preview screening of UP so it's a busy weekend in the Roberts household.
Had a lovely phonecall last night, was speaking to my cousin's 1st wife - haven't spoken to her in over 10 years (when they split it was nasty and I no longer speak to said cousin (but for different reasons)) anyway I was on the phone for well over an hour gassing away, was really nice to get back in touch. She now has children and we are going to arrange to meet up for a coffee at some point.
I really should get some lunch but don't know what to have and can't be bothered to move... I am so lazy :rotfl:Mummy to D born 21/04/09 and S born 09/05/120 -
*hugs* MM :grouphug:
Don't think there's anything I can say.. Rhys is just under the 0.4 line too but they don't seem too concerned about it (in the scheme of things). Don't know if you saw the other day but they've suggested weaning him early (more in case he needs longer to get it than to boost his weight) and there was talk of butter, cream and cheese in his mashed potato to fatten him up a bit - not sure how safe/normal that it though!
Does the faltering growth (not sure I like that term!) team mean dieticians or just tests of some description?0 -

That made me burst out laughing

I had to have an internal scan when they thought Charlotte might be disabled. They tried to do a brain scan on her but she'd dropped into my pelvis, so they tried an internal one to see if they could get her brain that way. Craig was in the room and asked if he should leave for the internal scan. I said it didn't matter as he'd seen my bits before, and he went all embarrassed

Centile charts - if it's any consolation, Joshua was always way under the weight charts. He's looked malnourished all his life with his ribs and hip bones sticking out. However he's always had a huge appertite, has always been full of beans and he's rarely ever ill. I used to be worried about his weight but I guess he'd just a skinny build! Here I go again on my own....0 -
