Can I ask, is autism linked with ceribal palsy ?? I only ask as Dylan has no eye contact with people at all, but will look at bright objects. The only thing we have been given is a new year appointment with an obsteatrician ?? to get his eyes looked at, but I didnt think he needed it as he can clearly see things, just wont make eye contactThe two best things I have done with my life

Thanks 3 and tara, that's interesting.
Great niece is 15 weeks tomorrow and she won't meet anyones eye. I noticed that I couldn't get her to look at me when she was about 5 or 6 weeks (no matter how close I held her or tried to move into her eyeline). MIL has noticed it more recently and so has one of her other aunts...so MIL mentioned it to SIL (who is GN's nanny) who has said that now it has been brought to her attention she is really worried about it.
SIL (nanny) has asked me to go and see niecey and GN to see what I think (because I have the most recent baby so I have more of a clue about development). If I think that there may be a problem then SIL will speak to niecey about getting GN looked at.
We were all just going along thinking it may be a problem with her eyes and her struggling to focus...but meeting the other aunt (my other SIL LOL) today she confided that she thinks it could be a sign of autism.
I was completely taken aback, I don't really know much about autism so I wasn't really sure where she was coming from...but I guess that you don't just conjure up words like that without feeling that there is some basis to them.
I feel like I have a big burden on me nowespecially as I have a baby who seems to be developing really quickly
I don't want to get into a situation where I am saying that there is something wrong with her baby IYSWIM.
Now I don't know whether to go and see niecey or not. But I am guessing that unless she progresses it the HV isn't going to spot anything potentially wrong??
Anybody with a 15 week old....they should be making eye contact and focussing on stuff shouldn't they?please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Just my opinion MM but it's really early to be worrying, X. But I've no idea about how they check a LO. The bedroom looks fantastic BTW.Too many children, too little time!!!0 -

I always show up just as someone asks about me.. it's like I'm lurking until someone mentions me, but I'm honestly not!
My friend from work came round to see us tonight. She left half an hour ago and I've been catching up ever since. I posted on FB a while ago that I wanted "housework and flapjack-making fairies" and she turned up with a tray of still warm flapjack for me, bless her!We had a good moan about work.. She misses me - noone else to b!tch to
She's going to sound out my temp cover lady on how she feels about a job share when I come back. Bless her (my temp), she sounds like she still definitely thinks of it as "Lynsey's job" and she won't change anything on the noticeboard in OUR office because she thinks of it as mineEverytime I go in there, I try to tell her to make it her own - even had to put my foot down and tell them to order her a name plate for the door (how horrid to sit in an office with someone else's name on the door for a year!
). There are a few things she's struggling with now, asking questions noone else seems to know the answers too (even my boss doesn't understand most of my job!) so I've told her to email me.. hope she does and doesn't just struggle on regardless - I still feel guilty for landing her in it with no warning!

Dont think I am worrying about it, as he can plainly see as he will follow his toys when you move them, just thought it was odd that he doesnt focus on me or anyone else.
Thanks, Jasmine absolutely loves it !! I think she thinks we are the best parents ever !!The two best things I have done with my life
