Physio is going well. We start hydrotherapy next in 2 weeks and I am actually really looking forward to it. Right hand side was always the better one, and it is improving loads, but his left hand side is still tight.
He has started throwing his arm backwards really hard when you pick him up, but he is getting there slowly, every little bit helps and all
Am at the hospital next week for paed appt to see about his reflux, so the physio can do more tummy exercises as he wont tolerate it at the minute at all, and we are hoping if he isnt being sick, he will lay on his front easier .
Have you made a decision about school ??
It goes on what you are actually doing for him that you wouldn't do for a child the same age without the condition (whatever it may or not be).
Hydrotherapy sounds great, I was just too scared of the water to take Chris.
Hope you get the reflux sorted out, you don't need it ontop of everything else.
No decision about school, will wait and see what the SALT report says and I think probably look at deferring him for a year so he starts primary August 2011 rather than 2010. Figure it's better to keep him in nursery a year rather than keep him back once he is at school. Plus, next year if he were to stay in nursery I am back at college so he would get full days again (already spoken to nursery about it and they would get him the 5 days funding again).0 -
The cysts were on his brain, was told if they hadn't gone by 28wks I would have to abort him as he would die anyway!!!
You know, my cousin Sarah had cysts on her brain when in the womb. My aunt was told she should abort as she would of been born a vegetable or die soon after birth. She refused. The cysts dissapeared themselves, and the only thing that was wrong with her was that she had a squint eye, which was fixed. She's fine! Mind you, she is ill ALL the time, she's sooooo skinny (she's 11 now) I mean seriously, a cold knocks her for days, she sat on a hard backed chair the other day and it left her with bruises!! She had diarrhea through the night in her bed and didn't realise. I mean that's just odd? I told my Aunt she should get her some tests done! You shouldn't bruise sitting on a chair.0 -

You know, it makes you wonder how many babies had cysts on their brains and went on to be born just fine in the days before scans.0
