Not sure if anyone can confirm this or not, but I thought crawling wasn't considered a developmental milestone:confused: A surprising number of babies never crawl...

No idea I'm afraid, wasn't that one that I was talking about, but the check they did at the clinic at 2yrs picked up on several to do with his understanding and physical developement! I think it would be vey tricky to notice much when they are young. It's only when I look back that I think that some things weren't quite right! Felt silly that I didn't notice at the time. :o

Mind you, just to say that as a Mummy I consider it milestone. X
Too many children, too little time!!!
    :p

Normally I just leave him if he is chatting/playing in his cot and only go up if he is crying, but at the moment I am terrified that he is going to fall over and bang his head hard on the side of the cot (he still wobbles a bit when he is standing, particularly if he is holding onto his dummy!!)

I was listening over the monitor and I knew exactly when he had stood up each time because he gave a self satisfied chuckle followed by a really excited squeal!!

Praying that he has a good night - swimming lessons at 9am.

...spoke too soon, he is crying :(

but don't most 'normal' babies either crawl or bottom shuffle? (I actually don't know the answer to that)
Has everyone seen a bottom shuffler? I find it hilarious :o

Elle thats utter pants about MRI results and DLA. If you have any problems your local CAB should be able to help, it's just impossible getting an appointment.

AM hope DHs hand is ok and mends quickly

Weezl bum ((((hugs)))) :rotfl:hope hes ok, you can buy lactulose over the counter, but I woulkd recommend you say it's for you as they would say seek medical advice for LOs. But if it's the same strength as he gets from doc it should be a prob.

    Off to finish catching up

Tried to get missy-moo-moo into bed before 10pm but she is up there wailing. Sent DH up to bring her down think he is putting her dummy in instead.

Made the decision tonight that breast feeding has came to an end. I am very proud of myself, 8 weeks exclusive (I don't count an EBM/forumla mix or formula at 8pm as making it any less exclusive) and 4 weeks combination. It's came to a natural end and now makes more sence to just stop now. I will still offer her a BF first thing just because it's such a nice way to wake up in the morning :D We would still be BF if I had the time to be able to sit and let her feed as much as she needed to put on weight (she started to loose weight hence the combi feeding), but given I have 2 other children and school runs, we did bloody good. Still, *sniff* :(

AM, that FB person sounds like a right !!!!!

the dr brown bottles r on offer in ASDA at the mo - 4 for £20

Am going to change to Dr Brown bottles also, will get at the local boots event on Wednesday ( want the points), they have been recommended by four of the mums at baby massage.

Have tried Infacol, dentinox and Colief and nothing seems to be working with Alex, he has spent most of the day screaming and he also trumps like a trooper.

I have tried no. 2 teats on the mam bottles, have moved from Apitamil 1, to Easy digest and now we are on Aptamil Hungry baby, which he keeps down a lot better than the others, but still seems to have an unsettled stomach. Poor baby.

Have had rubbish day. Clutch had gone on the car, brilliant, just what we need financially, it is being looked at tomorrow, but will cost at least £200:eek: . So any christmas shopping i had planned has well gone out the window, and we will have to economise on the food shopping. But i am still getting the bottles for Alex, as i'll try anything to help his poor belly and try and get him to settle.

Oh I completely agree - as a mummy everything a baby does is a milestone - including learning how to throw their dinner on the floor, look cute and even fall over!

it's just that I had been having a milestone chat with some other mums the otherday IRL. I never crawled, neither did DH, but we were early walkers, and LO has learned to stand, cruise and push things along before she learnt to crawl (i.e. the wrong way round IYKWIM) and the HV said that they don't count it as a milestone because so many babies never crawl - but I'm not sure I believe her! I was just wondering if anyone had been specifically told their child had 'missed' that milestone :p

Hope you are feeling better BTW

  • :T:T Tia - well done on 12 weeks of BF :T:T

Although I think still giving a morning BF still counts as BF!! I can't imagine giving the morning ones up either! I really never thought I would be BF a 7 1/2 month old. Although to be fair I rarely BF him in public any more, it is more of a private thing. Having a baby that can say yes and wave goodbye just doesn't go with my theory about when I was going to stop.

Scruffy - you made me snort - it looks like you are offering Weezl bum-hugs
