Ok, so I had to go look, it seems that any kind of moving is counted as crawling including bum shuffling and it explains it on some American websites but it calls it a milestone here... http://www.babycentre.co.uk/baby/development/crawling/Too many children, too little time!!!0

I didn't know Benjamin could say YES. I missed that. Oh wow :j:j:j:j:j:j:j
YES YES YES:rotfl::T
*is it wrong I get so excited over friends LO's achievements;):D:rotfl:*
Right - I'm off to bed. Lo and I are going on girly mummy shopping day tomorrow. I will resist the temptation to buy my LO things and treat myself for once. Caz's shopping trip in DP last week has inspired meThen off to see grandmother in hospital so away for a few days. Elle - you'll be chief filler-in-er when I get back
Although MFD must promise to tell me of anymore baby development so I can get excited for him:rotfl:
Oh sorry MacSmiler - he doesn't SAY yes - he nods his head lots!! Everywhere we go he nods at people (whilst maintaining eye contact - he is SO cute) so we ask him questions and he says 'yes, yes, yes' in a nodding way!!!
He does say dadda, babba and mum-mum and occasionally hiya but no spoken yes as yetplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

ooh that reminds me Chris was getting under my feet in the kitchen as always, then randomly kissed my botty when I bent over to put something in the cupboard :rotfl: he then giggled and sai "oo I kissed your bum mummy" tee hee
Glam I'm not sure but is easy digest similar to C&G comfort? because that actually made Chris's colic worse  I hope he doesn't have colic, it is very much NOT fun!!!0 -
My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »3 - I have a question about autism. How early can you spot the symptoms and could a complete lack of eye contact be an indicator?
Hmmm - Joes a difficult one! When he was a toddler, his eye contact was too good for him to be autistic - apparently! Although I always knew he was, it wasn't until he was 7 that they gave the diagnosis. Before that, he just had 'Global Developmental Delay'. But, I believe it's quite common not to be labelled with autism as a toddler.
I've got his little red book out to check what happened and when..........
At 4 mths, HV has written 'lovely little boy, vocalizing well. No concerns.
At 8th mth review - meeting developmental milestones (but he wasn't crawling - never did).
At 13 mths - Not walking yet, will weight bear. Physio referral discussed.
At this point, we started weekly physio. It was the Physio who noticed that he wasn't 'right' - and referred us to the Paediatrician.
At 23 mths - Community Paediatrician visited Joe at home. He is showing an unusual pattern of development. Quite vocal but variable eye contact. Referred to SALT and Portage service. Diagnosed with GDD - some autistic tendancies.
As Tara said - looking back, it was obvious something was wrong. But I was a first time mum and didn't know what babies were supposed to do!
If i'd have had Liv first, i'd have known that Joe wasn't doing stuff when he was supposed to.
Liv came when Joe was 3 1/2 - and very soon, she overtook him developmentally.
Now, he's 12 - his eye contact with me and those close to him is very good - especially if he wants something. :rotfl:
So, to answer your question - lack of eye contact could be an indicator, or could not be! In all - that was about as unhelpful as possible!in the hope that some will just give up and the gov won't have to pay out
OOh, Mrs Cynical - surely our lovely government wouldn't do such a thing! :rolleyes:Has everyone seen a bottom shuffler? I find it hilarious
Yes, my dog! And its not hilarious!:beer:0 -

I think Fritha is the perfect example of this, Celia barely sleeps but she just takes it in her stride
I don't think I've ever been described as laid back before! The youngling has been sleeping a lot better recently (well some more teeth are trying to come through which are causing issues but apart from that...) only 2 or 3 times a night now! In fact on Saturday night she slept for seven and three quarter hours without waking up! Unfortunately she started at half seven but that's entirely beside the point!
Btw I didn't see yout post before last tuesday sorry, I wans't in Warrington anyway, I'm about 20 minutes drive away from there but I can get there pretty easily to meet you avec breast pads if you like one day, as long as there's a space in Celia's packed social schedule! :rolleyes:Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
