Just spotted this thread. I bought one of these over a year ago and husband and I had a few attempts but neither of us managed to get it in me lol.

So I gave up as it seems far too big for me. I generally only use Tampax mini as these are most comfortable for me and my periods are generally quite light.

Anyone else had any trouble actually getting the thing in?
  • Maybe we should be sending links to this discussion to our (female?) MPs. The cost and environmental impact of sanitary protection is a real taboo subject - but it costs us ladies a lot. I think we even pay VAT on them??
Why dont teenage girls' mags/guides include advice on mooncups?
I'll be trying one now that I have found out about them (aged 43...).

    :ome

I fold it as suggested but it opens up too quick and I can't seem to persuade it 'up' any further - I know it doesn't go up as far as a tampon but I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to look like I'm laying an egg.:rotfl:

Sorry if that's tmi. Must persevere as I refuse to buy any more pads.

Ahh good, not just me then, looks like you might be getting a little bit futher than me hehe :D I will have to try again
  • Love my moon cup - no more buyingof expensive sanitary towels, tampons etc, good money investment!!!!! :T The company that make them need to get out there into schools and colleges. We need to see them talking to girls - not just the good old "tampax / sanitary towel promotion"

I want a badge to say i'm wearing mine - it would start a conversation!!

Hi, Well I got my Mooncup today. Can anyone please tell me, what colour the cup is supposed to be? I expected it to be white like on the ad/mooncup website.
  • Mine is sort of beige/neutral coloured.

Thanks for replying. Guess that's what this one looks like too! Was just a little worried cos of the others talking about discolouration after use - thought I got a dodgy one!!!!!!! Can't wait to try it now. Thanks for putting my mind at rest. :T
