I think Littleange's suggestion for a Mini Mooncup is a good one, but Mooncup still don't think there is a demand for one. It's a shame because I think that there is def a market for them. Glad Day 2 went well. Have you experienced TFT yet? (!!!! Flap Twangage)
not had TFT yet - unless you mean the sucky noise when it opens up....:o may not be brave enough to use in the public toilets yet - god only knows what others will think the noise is....:rotfl:
Yes, shame there's not a smaller version for 'beginners' - especially teenagers just starting - it does look rather daunting when you see the size of it to start with..well the 'over 30 and kids' size anyway.
One thing I did notice was I find it easier to pee if I take it out (not saying I can't with it in - just find it easier at the moment) Sorry if tmi

p.s. Tittch - I don't think you're supposed to have links in your signature unless they've been approved (doesn't worry me but don't want you getting into trouble);)old enough to know better, young enough not to care;)0 -

TFT is the unfortunate twang that makes your eyes water if you pull your cup out without angling it correctly.
You'll find the ability to pee with the cup in should return once you get used to the sensation of having something shoved up there. It doesn't take long and you shouldn't really be aware of it consciously.
Thanks for the ps too. Will remove it if I get a slap from Martin :rolleyes:I'm free from tampons - another Mooncup Convert!

I'm not going to have internet access from 24th July until 16th August.
Have a lovely summer!0 -
Punkstone, please do your research and don't troll. Thank you.
oh tittch, shut up. Are you in fact trying to tell me that it is hygenic to wash these things out in the sinks of public and disabled convienences?
You know its not hygenic, and so do I. As I said in my previous post, its disgusting. Hep B, C, HIV, etc etc etc.
Im not trolling, im stating a FACT. Also, I think I your signature is against site rules. You do not appear to be supporting the forum at all, just this thread, at the same time as advertising your website. Signature reported.0 -
Nope, I don't quite understand how there's a risk of Hep B, C, HIV etc as you put it. I'd love you to explain...0

Second month of use and all going well. I totally love my mooncup...apart from...the "thwup"...you know, you've inserted it and got re-dressed (!) and are just leaving the loo/sitting back at your desk/on the sofa chilling again and...it opens and the vacuum forms. Feels like someone's just flicked you inside...:rotfl:
[feed troll]
As for me giving people HIV/Hep A/B/C...wouldn't that depend on me having it in the first place. I am entirely free of all blood borne diseases, thank you very much!!!
[/feed troll]We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

Sorry for tmi.ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away0 -
ruthiejane wrote: »I was wondering the same thing - how is flushing away a small amount of blood, and rinsing the very dregs down the plug hole more of a risk than leaving impregnated bundles of cotton wool sitting in a bin?
Sorry for tmi.
bloods and ghoo in small or large quantities, from your hands and the cup, then getting on the taps etc. Cross contamination i believe its called.
There is also the risk of spillage when moving off the toilet and to the sink area? Some poorly paid mug has to clean that up.
What are you going to do with it after you get up off the toilet, put it on the cistern while you pull your panties up or something.
Whatever though, imho washing these things out in public facilities is filthy and disgusting.
Maybe some budding engineer could create a piece of equipment or machinery which would be connected to the drains, with a water and electricity supply, and placed on the wall, like a hand dryer or towl dispenser which actually washes these things hygenically for a small payment, say 50p or £1.00 a time.
Failing that, opening the bin that ruthiejane kindly mentioned will often lead to being able to find a real towel, thats free and hardly used. Now, thats TRUE moneysaving. Incidently ruthiejane, that bin that you mention has a special mixture of detergents, anti-bacterial cleaner, and bleach. Something no regular sink has. Not really the sort of details that need publishing on a forum such as this, because most people dont want to know how you get your rocks off0 -

Me!! Huge trouble. I posted the below a couple of weeks ago:
"I fell in love with my moon cup (the idea of it) about 1 year - 18 months ago. I purchased mine from boots for £20. I used it the 1st day of my next period. Locked myself in the bathroom, ky in one hand, hot tap running and cup in the other. Once I had made it warm and wet I applied a little (prob too much then) Ky and attempted to put it in but it wouldnt go so gave up.
The next month I tried again and it went in a little way but I couldnt undo the thing so pulled it out again in agony.
Many months pass I read this thread with joy and the desire to try again. Just locked my self in bathroom as per the first time and tried to insert. Got it in a little way but fear over took me when I thought of how much it hurt before so I stopped. Tried again but it would go in. So I squatted wider and tried again but it wouldn't go past. So I gave up. I am not on my period at the moment but thought I would try it any way now for practice. Not sure its for me.
Has anyone tried to put it in when they have been ahem "sexually aroused" or after an O when things are more stretched and widened out already? Wondered if that would help at all?"0
