Hi
I'm keen to try a mooncup, but I'm a bit worried about how to clean it between periods. Do you boil it (for how long?) in a normal saucepan just with water, or do you use sterilising fluid? (Milton? What is this? Where can you buy it?) I'm looking for a low-hassle solution that's hygenic!
thankyou

I think these could be one solution:

Just spotted this thread. I bought one of these over a year ago and husband and I had a few attempts but neither of us managed to get it in me lol.
So I gave up as it seems far too big for me. I generally only use Tampax mini as these are most comfortable for me and my periods are generally quite light.0 -

I'm 32 and use a B with no problems.0 -
Well guys or should I say gals?! I'm now convinced. Have read most of this thread and looked up several related sites, reading all the information on Mooncups, all my queries have been answered (thanks to everyone for all their comments, suggestions and advice); tomorrow I'm going to buy my first Mooncup! I'm due on next week, I'll let you know how I get on!!!!!0

Try it out before you're "on". Its perfectly safe to wear while you're not bleeding and there's less pressure on you to get it right first time that way. Getting it wet (run under a tap) or using lube might help for the first couple of times too :heart2: Give blood. :female: Use a mooncup.
But ensure the two are not connected!0 -

Tesco do 'my babys sterilising tablets 56' for 0.73
On another note, I love the concept of my mooncup but even after 2 years I still get leaking on my two heaviest days and have to wear (washable) towels. I've tried it lower, higher, tipped forward, backward, I've squeezed out excess air and cleaned the little holes, anyone got any other ideas?0 -
I've been using a Mooncup for 5 years now. I love it.
I think the Government should offer 1 to all females as an environmental incentive.
I cut the stem completely off mine as I found it was rubbing a bit, I clean it with 1/4 sterilising tablet and it removes all the staining. I usually wet it before I put it in and then pull it down until I hear the suction noise.
I also invested in some cloth san pro and we used cloth nappies on our eldest and are now using cloth nappies on our 14wk old.0 -
