Got mine this morning. Another success story here.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
I have read the majority of this thread but no-one has mentioned my 'problem'. I love my mooncup but do find it leaks a little, perhaps i'm not inserting it high enough? But, i also find that i can feel little pops of air escaping every now and then, has anyone else experienced this or is it only me?If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed back out?:rotfl:0

To stop it leaking, twist it round a few times when you put it in. I also found that it helps if you (stop reading if you're squeamish) push a finger up the side and let some air out (kinda like when you let air out of a tupperware box, to get a better seal).
I found mine leaks a little at night, particularly on the heavy days, because I'm a bit of a fidgeter in bed.
I'm pregnant at the mo, and wondering what I can do about the post-partum bleeding (I bled for 5 weeks after child #1, but the mooncup site says not to use it for this bleeding).0 -
I've not read the whole of this thread so I don't know if the curse of the mooncup has been mentioned.
I got mine, loved it and was so happy I got one. Used it for 1 month and got knocked up :rotfl: Yup the curse got meK xx

I have great difficulty in twisting the mooncup round once inserted. It's just too grippy!
As for your post-partum question - have you considered washable pads, most suppliers do post-partum sizes. Much more comfy than plasticky paper pads especially on post-partum lady bits.0 -
that jam sponge thing looks interesting... but bothers me that they don't mention about boiling it at all? just "washing" it, and leaving it... seems a bit wrong to me... don't like the idea of it sliding out of my cervix when it is full!
"But it is not sterile? -Neither is a traditional tampon, or your hands, or your vagina - just because something is in a plastic wrapper does not mean it is sterile."...
i think the tampon manufacturers would disagree, wouldn't they?! I know that there are lots of arguments against tampons, but i think them not being sterile when you buy them from boots, is not one of them!
i'll stick with my mooncup...0 -
I've been using the mooncup for almost a year now and have found it really amazing. It's much easier to use (and cheaper) than tampons and the fact I am not flushing cotton/plastic/paper into the water system really makes a difference to me. I spoke to a plumber once and he said that tampons are the single biggest causes of blocked drains and sewage systems. I recommend them to all my friends and haven't had ANY issues with hygene or TSS. It's logical to empty the mooncup every 4-8 hours and keep yourself clean. It's great if you swim or scuba dive, salsa or horseback ride. (any rigourous sport) and I don't go through pants due to "accidents" like before as it's a perfect fit. I suggest doing your own research and trying them out. Unless you have serious OCD issues you don't need to boil it. A bit of antibac soap does a perfect job! I found only the need to boil when staining started to happen.0

ive been thinking about getting a mooncup for a while now, but my only concern has been what to do about it in work?!?!? dont really want to be washing it out in the sinks at lunchtime when someone else comes in to go to the loo and sees what im doing!! what does everyone else do about this?0

i love my mooncup. as for at work/in public, you can wipe it out until you can get somewhere to clean it.
i got my mooncup from bodykind http://www.bodykind.com/search.asp?SearchString=mooncup&actionUrl=on they frequently do special offers and free delivery always.

I am using my Mooncup only for the second month (well, second time -my periods are rather erratic). One fantastic benefit I've found is that my "stress incontinence" was always worse during my periods when using tampons and the mooncup has absolutely erradicated it! No more having to change knickers 3 times a day!
One question I have is that I have Hydrotherapy on Wednesday (4th day of normally heavy 7 day periods) and I'm really quite scared about going whilst using the mooncup or anything really. A lot of the exercises I do include plaiting your legs in different contortions (!) and I'm really worried about leakage.
I had even thought of using a tampon AND the mooncup. Or should just cancel this session?
Please advise?I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0
