i've told a few people. did tell my OH i was thinking of getting one, but he was even more disgusted than he usually is when i talk about periods! :rotfl: i think i'll just keep it quiet from him! but friends are generally interested in knowing more!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
I was in Boots in Sheffield on the Moor yesterday and they had a couple of shelves of reduced items, and there were two Mooncups for a fiver each! I'd been reluctant to try one before but at that price I couldn't refuse. There was one left on the shelf, size B (the smaller size). This branch of Boots is smaller than the main High St one, so anyone with a smaller Boots near them and who is considering trying the Mooncup would be advised to see if they've got any reduced items too.0

Just wondered what everyone else did with any left over towels and tampons? Seems a real waste to throw them away, but I also can't see myself giving them away.
your local womens aid group would be glad of them.Every day above ground is a good one0 -

First month of using mine and so far I really like it
I trimmed the stalk thing down to about half its length and have been able to put it in and take it out no problem. I haven't told my husband that I've got one though - I'm not quite sure what he'll do with the information

Just want to add support to the view that mooncups are great. I was hesitant to buy - wanted to know that it was safe etc. The info that comes with it is very helpful and clear. The mooncup itself I find comfier than tampons (can't feel it in fact), completely reliable and easy to care for.
Really good to think of financial and environmental benefits: thousands less tampons in the sea per Mooncup user! Much money saved on sanitary products and laundry caused by unreliable sanitary products.0 -
i just had my second month with it. think i've finally worked out how to get it out a bit more easily - was ok before, just a bit tricky!! i worked out that i wasn't breaking the seal properly so now i twist it a bit which helps. sorry if tmi, just thought it might help someone!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

im convinced enough to buy one of these but just wondered if there is much mess between changes.. you know the time when you first start your period and then have to put it in (do you wear a pad or just wipe down), same with when you need to empty - is it not messy putting it back up if you have a heavy flow (should you carry pads round too just incase) sorry if too much info but i would rather know upfront before buyingWin £2012 in 2012 challenge 0/2012

Hi NE girl, first I would definitely recommend the mooncup, it is a revelation! Clean, comfortable and easy to use.
I think I am understanding you right - you mean how much blood is there actually coming out as you change it? In my experience not much at all, it only takes a minute to take it out, wash/wipe it and then put it back in. You will get a bit of blood on your hands so if you are using a public toilet then I would recommend always having tissues on you in case there is no loo roll. Once it is in it forms a seal so there is no leakage at all.
Also if you know your period is due that day you can put it in without worrying about Toxic Shock.0 -
