There are a couple of threads on the green board about this. I'll move it over for you in a minute.

You might also want to have a look on the health board because I think there's a very long thread on these in there.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

:T :T Brought one yesterday from boots 19.99 (plus points) and i am really happy. Just had a go with it now and it was soo easy! I was expecting it to be a little difficult but was amazed at how simple it was.

Can't wait to save money with this! :T :T

I've merged your post into the existing mooncup thread so that you and others can find it for future reference :)
  • I haven't read all this thread but I too love my mooncup.

Has anyone turned 30 and had a baby and still managed to get away with a B rather than an A? I really don't want to have to buy another one but I think I may have to when the time comes to start using it again.

I so wish I'd had one at school when my life was made hell by heavy periods that even a super plus tampon and a towel couldn't deal with between breaks.

Well must be third, or is it fourth month now. There is definetely no going back! So much easier, cleaner, cheaper and better for the environment. :j

Just wondered what everyone else did with any left over towels and tampons? Seems a real waste to throw them away, but I also can't see myself giving them away. :o
ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away :)

I had a box of tampons left when I switched so I just left them on the bathroom windowsill.

Within no time, friends who had run out or hadn't put any in their bag before we went out for the day, etc would ask if I had one to spare. I just told them to help theirselves (all the while feeling happy because I had one less thing to worry about with mooncup :D) and they didn't last more than a few months.

Just bought mine from Boots and think it's great. A bit tricky to use at first and a bit yucky, but think I can get my head round it! I went out on Friday to a friend's house and there were five of us - 2 are real 'greenies' and it became a source of great hilarity, but I didn't offer to get it out to show them! Anyway, 2 of them have a Mirena coil so don't get periods anyway!

We ended up playing Taboo and the little pink squeaker (after a few glasses of wine) will forever now be known as the 'mooncup'!

How do I tell people how good it is and economic (I reckon it will pay for itself within a year) without making them feel sick? I definitely won't be telling my hubby as he will be sick!

The woman I bought it from in Boots was very interested in it! God, a few years ago I would have cringed. The pain seems a bit better too - a coincidence?

I had never heard of a mooncup until I got the boots mag on Friday. Then I checked out the site & am soooo curious! Thought to myself that there was bound to be a thread here lol!!! :rotfl:

I am fascinated & intrigued by them. The good that people have to say about them seems to outweigh the neg.

One very strange question - if the mooncup safely collects & doesnt leak, what happens when you have a wee? :o (Apologies if you think I am being gross but I am nearly convinced about getting one!)

    Thanks!
    NEVER ASSUME!

    Thanks!

Without getting too deep in a gynacology lesson, the cup is inserted in very much the same way as a tampon so it doesn't interfere with weeing at all.

Plus, on the upside, you don't get 'wet string' syndrome either lol
