I usually bleed less at night so I find there is very little in the cup in the morning. I should imagine that it just gathers inside you and drops down (via gravity) into the cup in the morning but, obviously, I can't give medical advice.0

Please please please don't wear tampons at night, no matter how heavy you are. You can run the risk of catching toxix Shock Syndrome, which can be fatal if not caught in time.

I know about TSS and I've worn them at night for 15 years now0 -
Having read this thread from top to bottom I've just ordered my mooncup from Boots (got extra points and free delivery once I'd bought some birthday presents in the xmas sale so cheaper than buying elsewhere).
Since I started moneysaving I'd realised just how much money goes on sanitary protection each month, plus there's the green factor.
I don't know why I used to think mooncups were *really* yukky, now for some reason they seem a lot less yukky than using tampons and towels. Think I must be becoming a hippyThat man is richest whose pleasures are cheapest. Henry David Thoreau0 -
I'm definitely converted
and keep telling all my friends and family in an attempt to convert them too.... which is slightly embarassing, just can't help myself!!

I joined the club today! It was very easy to put in. It's my lunch break now so might check how it's doing. BTW, not cut off the stem yet but I want to do so. This might seem a stupid question but, how do you know how much to cut off? Do you do it while its in there (sounds a bit unsafe!) or when its out? Any advice appreciated.0

I did it while it was out but only because I couldn't wear it at all with the stem attached.
When it's out, you should be able to see where the stem joins the cup (providing you have one of the clear ones not the opaque red ones). I guess it's personal preference how short you go but I snipped mine off completely.0
