New RBS cards won't have the cheque guarantee symbol on them after June this year when the CG scheme is abolished. How will you know what sort of card you've got then?

By the first 6 numbers on the card.

    RBS Visa debit
My card does not work in self-service petrol pumps, why is this?

If your Visa Debit card replaces a Solo card (and begins with the numbers 4751 16) this cannot be used in unattended Point of Sale terminals. This card type can only be used at a retailer or supplier of services where they can authorise the transaction with us at the time of the transaction being made and self-service terminals, such as those on trains or at petrol pumps, cannot perform such an authorisation.

    Natwest Visa Debit

You're talking about NatWest, but Toe-Jam was talking about RBS. The RBS card is definitely blue. You can see a picture of it on this page:

    http://www.rbs.co.uk/personal/current-accounts/g2/debit-cards/your-card.ashx

    And in this PDF: http://www.rbs.co.uk/Downloads/personal/RBS_core.pdf

There's no sign of any purple RBS card there.
my old rbs debit card offline 4751 16 is blue card but rbs logo in middle of card is light blue, hope im making sence lol
but my new cgc card is a slighty dark blue /purple but rbs lego in middle of card a purple ish blue ,defo diff colour from 4751 16 card
    hope this makes sence lol

  • My husband doesn't have problems with his RBS card until he buys online. He uses his card all the time in shops and it works, until he buys over the net. The payment goes through but then the next time he tries to use it in a shop it is refused. He has to go to a cash point where it is accepted then return to the shop to pay.
