My Visadebit card doesn't work at Post Office Counters and hasn't worked since I received it over a year ago The staff are equally frustrated as they have to handle more cash. RBS not interested, don't answer e-mail complaints and 'phoning doesn't work either.0

I tried my RBS visa debit card for the first time at Asda pay-at-pump yesterday and it wouldn't authorise. Had to drive round again to a normal pump.
Wasn't happy.0 -
If its a blue visa debit it won't work at pay pumps, as it is a full authorisation cardDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0

It is in the T&C's. It says if your card begins 4751 and I have forgotten the next 2 digits, then "we may decline it if the retailer cannot obtain authorisation". The NatWest T&C's I am not sure if they have been updated but they used to distinguish between the card with and without cheque card symbols. So they will have to change them at some point to let the customer know, well you would hope so anyway.0

Both the RBS cards are blue, If its doesn't have cheque guarantee on the card you can't use it at the pump.
No. The servicecard is purple (with chq guarantee) and the offline card is blue.If your Visa Debit card replaces a Solo card (and begins with the numbers 4751 27 or 4751 28) this cannot be used in unattended Point of Sale terminals. This card type can only be used at a retailer or supplier of services where they can authorise the transaction with us at the time of the transaction being made and self-service terminals, such as those on trains or at petrol pumps, cannot perform such an authorisation.

You're talking about NatWest, but Toe-Jam was talking about RBS. The RBS card is definitely blue. You can see a picture of it on this page:

And in this PDF: http://www.rbs.co.uk/Downloads/personal/RBS_core.pdf
There's no sign of any purple RBS card there.0 -
