  • For those in the north east, the Tyne Tunnel permit top-up line won't accept new NatWest Visa Debit cards and I had big problems with it in Aldi too.

I've just had the same problem 2 minutes ago... the guy at Egg suggested doing a BACS payment instead.
  • Yesterday I paid for my shopping with the new card but could not get cashback at the checkout in Aldi. The girl said all the new RBS VISA debit cards don't work..

RBS full Visa Debit doesn't work on the Capital One site

typical, i am dreading mine being replaced, as capital one online has never liked my lloyds visa debit card from day one, but accepts my natwest maestro service card 250, whats the betting that once the change over happens i wont be able to use it on cap one site!

Experienced same problem at Morrisons Supermarket, Scarborough 16/1/2010 and Aldi a week ago. Spoke to Nat West who blamed the retailers. Spoke to Morrisons who stated the Banks were at fault.

Egg finally seem to have got it sorted, i've been able to add my Visa Debit card and make payments online again. Taken them long enough.

My RBS VISA Debit card is showing problems - just like other folk have experienced. This card is basically rubbish. I tried to use it today to pay on the Thomas Cook website - and was told that the "card number does not match the Visa Debit type". So I called RBS (Private Banking - supposedly a helpful service) and they put me through the security procedure and then said maybe it's the problem of Visa - and promptly transferred me to Visa - who told me that they couldn't help at all - I should call my bank branch. So - back to RBS again I go - and they now tell me that this RBS Visa Debit is the only card they now do - so it's take it or leave it.
They claim not to have heard of any problems with the RBS Visa Debit.
So do I pay credit card charges - on a Debit card?? !!
RBS "Private Banking" thus is a waste of time, Visa Debit is a bit of a fraud, Visa don't care, and so my only alternative is to find a new Bank - Anyone got any suggestions for a better Bank than RBS? One that doesn't use Visa Debit?
